Hi Marion,

A beautiful, tasteful property with a pool, not far from the sea in Salento, was my home for a month.
Linda gave me a warm welcome, and I moved into my little house at the other end of the garden, under a large pine tree. A bedroom, bathroom, and indoor and outdoor kitchen all to myself, privacy guaranteed—what more could you want?

The work wasn't difficult, and I enjoyed keeping the garden, paths, and plants in good shape. Cleaning around the house and minor repairs were activities when it rained.
After a few days, I felt like a part of the whole. I was well looked after with delicious food, and Linda kept asking me if she should bring me anything from her shopping.
Being able to use Linda's car was simply wonderful; it gave me the opportunity to explore Salento for myself. Day trips along the coastal roads to Otranto or Gallipoli were real highlights.
Thank you, Linda, for your openness and generosity. Your dogs and cats were companions to me too, and it was special to see them living together in harmony. Your love for the animals and their love for you is so palpable.
I wish you all the best 🍀☀️❤️

We arrived in Italy in December 2024 with a plan to spend the winter in Puglia, to rent a house in a couple of different places and look for a possible new home. At the end of January Linda contacted us and offered a workaway opportunity in April. We liked this plan, but since we were traveling with a 15-year-old Jack Russell, Mr Erwin, who is not
… read more used to living with other animals, and Linda has many!!! animals, we were a little bit worried about how the animals would get along.
In February we drove to Linda`s home to see the situation among the animals. From the first moment it felt like we were old acquaintances - it was so easy to communicate with Linda.
Our dog and Linda`s animals got along well and so we spent April 2025 at Linda`s house. And it was a great time for us and for our dog Erwin too! We had a 4-day workaway experience before, so we could say that this month with Linda was our first "proper" workaway experience. After 4 month of vacation, it was wonderful to do work, to do something necessary. We prepared for the summer season. Andres washed the yard and garden walls and painted the walls white again. He repaired the garden furniture and did other routine repairs. The biggest job was emptying the pool of old water, cleaning it properly and refilling it. Andres also cut the grass and daily cleaned the pool. Talvi`s biggest job was sewing new covers for the cushions of the outdoor furniture. And there is a lot of outdoor furniture in Linda`s household :). Talvi also helped with other ongoing tasks.
Linda is amazing! She has incredible energy, she is a great cook and host, she is a great communicator, she is super caring... And she has a very beautiful home! Linda constantly worried that we weren't working too hard or that we still had enough to eat. We felt embarrassed at times and would have loved to have worked a lot more. We even forbade her from buying beers for Andres, but she still bought... :). Linda included us completely in her life - she took us to her friends and we attended all her parties/dinner parties. When Talvi felt unwell, she immediately took Talvi to the doctor. Linda even took our house-searching very seriously - she gave us advice and looked for suitable houses for us. We got to know the local people and local life, enjoyed local drinks and food, just like we had wanted when we arrived in Italy in December. We got many new friends and many-many great experiences and memories. We were like one happy family. It was our best time in Italy and the best time for our old dog Erwin too. :)
Thank You, Linda! Thank you, Patrizia! Thank you, Theresa and others! We will be back in autumn and maybe it will be forever this time :). And Linda - please, remember to rest sometimes! :) See you!
I hosted Patricia in the month of February, it was cold and wet and so there was a lot of washing floors because of the dogs, but each time with a smile she fixed it. We had some solid duties such as walking the dogs, watering the garden and cleaning the mansion. Linda offered us to take her car anytime so we could travel around beautiful local beaches during our free time. Although we were a bit too young to be a proper company for Linda and her friends, she did her best to acquaint us with them and gave us a great opportunity to meet interesting and kind people. And even though some of them didn’t speak english well, they still wanted to connect with us which we found very precious. Linda is an amazing host and we’re really grateful we got to visit her (and her wonderful animals!) and be of help for our first workaway experience. We would recommend Linda to anyone who’s considering to stay in Marina di Andrano.Feito pelo anfitrião para o Workawayer (Roksana)
Roxy and Sonia agrred to come and help in august way back in Feb, but when it started to get exceptionally hot here in June I offered them the possibility of receeding, worried that they wouldnt be able to cope. But they insisted they would be fine. AND they were.
It was their first workaway experience but they came out tops.
We agreed because
… read more of the heat that they would work 2 hours in the morning and 3 in the evening.
They did everything I asked, even hard work that normally would be better for a man.
They sweeped the garden every day, cut grass, cleaned pool, helped me 3 times a week to wash floors in house because of the animals and took the dogs walking every single night. Even washed dishes after a dinner party because my dishwasher was temporily not working.
Anyhthing I asked they did and they did it more than well.
They are excellent workers and nothing was too difficult for them, I would sincerely take them if they wish to come back and would certainly recommend them to any other hosts.
Being so young and so willingly are excellent qualities.
Our month-long stay with Linda had so many advantages that it is really hard to list them all. There was only one disadvantage - Linda is a heavy smoker, which she did not mention on her profile and which bothered us, as non-smokers, a bit.
A beautiful villa located in the Apulian countryside, surrounded by olive groves, 800 m as the crow flies
… read more from the sea with the amazing Grotta Verde, and a few kilometers away the charming Acquaviva bay. On the property there is a well-kept and varied garden, a swimming pool (practically only at our disposal) and 5 very nice dogs (Bimbo!) and 15 cats (Bimba!). We were given a small functional house at the back of the garden for exclusive use, which provided comfort and intimacy.
Linda showed us a lot of trust and gave us a lot of freedom - we practically did whatever we wanted and whenever we wanted. Our tasks were very easy and relaxing - taking care of the garden, the pool and fixing various things. During Linda's 2-day absence, we also had to look after her animals, which was pure pleasure.
Linda is a great cook, we got Italian dishes (parmigiana, panna cotta!) and Scottish cuisine, and we gained a bit of weight there :) Since Linda is a member of the local agricultural cooperative, we always had access to fresh and organic vegetables, fruits and preserves.
Linda was a very generous hostess. She constantly made sure that we didn't overwork ourselves and weren't hungry. Whenever we wanted, she would lend us her car, and we also had 2 bikes at our disposal. Thanks to this, we had the chance to visit the nearby historic cities and towns, and there really is something to see there (Lecce - the baroque pearl of the south, Otranto, Gallipoli, Leuca, Tricase...).
At Linda's parties, to which we were regularly invited, in addition to delicious food, we had the opportunity to meet many of her friends from Italy and all over Europe, and also improve our English and Italian. These meetings were very educational and interesting for us.
A month with Linda passed quickly and intensively and sometimes we had the impression that there were simply too many attractions to try and touch everything (for example, we didn't have time to sail on the sea by boat).
To sum up - if you like animals, the countryside, the sea and working with plants and want to get to know Salento from the inside - workaway with Linda will be PERFECT. We recommend it wholeheartedly!
What can I say, there are no words to express how good they are or my gratitude to them.
If they could have I would have loved them to come and live with me.
Not only did they look after my garden and in a meticulous fashion, even Agnieska pruned my trees! Janus on the other hand is a miracle worker, he fixed my dishwasher that hadnt worked for 2

There is nothing that they are not able to do.
Thank you Agnieska and Janus.
They never looked at the clock, something had to be done they did it, I even had to insist that they take time off and go to the beach.
I caught Agnieska working one evening at 9 with a head torch taking care of the gereniums and she wouldn't stop even if I told her it was late.
They came to my dinner parties and were excellent company, extrmely cultured and very interesting for my guests.
Hosts, if you're reading this pls don't offer them Sept and October 2025 as I really want them to come back!

Our first Workaway assignment with Linda felt a bit like winning the lottery because we had such a wonderful time.

Linda was extremely generous and welcoming. She loves cooking and wine and we enjoyed wonderful meals together . We were invited to her birthday party, friend’s parties and other social events and were made to feel like her friends. She lent us her car and encouraged us to explore the countryside. We really enjoyed going on shopping expeditions to buy various supplies and items needed at the villa.
The tasks we completed on a daily basis included pool and garden maintenance; tasks like collecting leaves, pruning plants, mowing the lawn and keeping the pergola area tidy. There were lots of other handyman jobs that needed doing and Linda was always very fair in the time she asked us to work giving us plenty of time to relax.
Linda has numerous animals and we enjoyed walking her dogs and helping to care for them as well.
The villa is in the countryside, an easy 1.5km walk to the nearest village, a little further to the beach and an hours drive to Lecce. It is a beautiful place to stay and would suit people who enjoy good food and wine, a quiet pace of life and love cats and dogs. We loved our time there.

I can't believe how lucky I have been to have them.
They took my dogs walks nearly everyday, and love them as I do.
Geraldine even cooks great meals, because I work late she often organised dinner, well thats a win.
But she was always ready to muck in, swept the garden, trimmed the gerenium flowers, watered the garden and I have a really big garden. She even fixed zips on my cushions after I had washed them because the tailor had cut the zips too short and so they were broken, if I had to take them back it would have cost me a fortune.
I often had dinner parties and they fitted in wonderfully, very discreet but participated marveously.
They came because they wanted to live real life in an Italian surroundings rather than stay just the pair of them on holiday in a hotel room and they did just that, I sent them shopping for anything and everthing and they came back always with my best interest at heart.
What can I say, I give my utmost blesssing and if anyone is thinking of contacting them rest assured you will definately not be disappointed.

He has lived here more like a friend and doesnt ever look at the clock, I told him to have sat and sunday off but he didnt care because he looks after your house as if it was his own.
He lived in the pool house but we ate together and he is most discreet, but has excellent conversation when he is with you.
He loves hiking and does the most amazing journeys by himself with a backpack in some most desolate and difficult conditions, in actual fact he is taking a long journey home through some countries where there will be 50 cm of snow, on a motobike!!!!
As for work, he redid the roof with cement grouting stone sealing joint and with a special sealing paint, a very nasty job, especially under the apulian heat, he emptied the pool hydrowashing it all and hydrowashed the whole garden, painted chairs, fixed and varnished garden furniture, clued wooden cupboards that were splitting, fixed hanging wall garden that was coming away from wall and the list goes on and on,,,, And what was excellent was that he did everything with extreme precision and craftmanship.
He eats everything and makes your most simple meals seem like a masterchef deal.

Meeting Linda was fantastic! She really invited me to her home as if I were a golden guest. The work I had to do was not hard and I have a lot of free time. I staid for 2,5 weeks. During that time she lent me here car for 4 days so I could visit interesting places in the surroundings. I also were invited to many dinners with her nice friends.
… read more Linda loves to cook so I can say that I have bin living inside Italians best restaurant. The day I left Linda gave me picnic box full of food for my journey 😋.
Thanks Linda for hosting me 🤗 I can really recommend her as a host.Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

Feito pelo anfitrião para o Workawayer (Helge)
Helge was my first experience using workaway. Lots of my friends were worried for me having a stranger in my house BUT he couldnt have been better.
He is discreet, eats everything, and although he arrived after a very long journey and I said to him just to relax for a day he didnt. He adjusted a couple of cupboards that werent closing properly
… read more without me having to tell him and looked all around the house and by the time I came back from work, he had a good idea of the things that I needed fixing or I wanted to do.
I had a problem with the stones at one end of my pool, they had slipped forward so needed repositioning, done!
I wanted the white countertop in the kitchen taken back to the wood and oiled, done.
I had various cracks in my crazy paving outside, i wanted them cleaned and refilled, done.
I wanted the whole place hydrowashed, done
All the tables, chairs and loungers for the pool hydrowashed, done And I have many.
And he was only here a couple of weeks.
Every evening I would come home from work and he had put on the fire for me, always washed the dishes and complemented me on my cooking. A perfect gentleman.
I did not know what to expect, but if all my guests are to be like him, I am a very lucky person.
