  The place, meaning "Soul Miracle," is a sanctuary where you can retreat from the outside world and embark on a journey toward holistic well-being and spiritual alignment. Born out of two words: Alma, meaning “soul” in Spanish, and Mactzil, meaning “miracle” in Mayan —this phrase embodies our mission:
  To nurture soulful beings so they may discover the miracle that lies within.
  Our heartfelt intention is to provide a space for self-exploration, transformation, and growth.
  Through solitary retreats and community living, we open the doors of our home to those seeking peace, healing, and security.
  Surrounded by waterfalls and the Tacaná Volcano in the state of Chiapas, Southern Mexico, the sanctuary is located just 10 km from Tapachula, a friendly city bustling with markets, natural beauty, and cultural richness. Nearby, you’ll find Mayan pyramids, La Ruta del Café, hot springs, mangroves, rivers, and beaches—a perfect blend of tranquility and adventure.
  
  This land has been in my family for over 100 years, originally serving as my grandparents’ coffee farm.
  Over the past four years, the sanctuary has been my home base, where I continuously share transformational retreats and tools that remind us of the essence and lightness of Sukha, our true nature.
  The name 'I' was gifted 30 years ago is Lorena Guadalupe, in honor of both my mother and my grandmother.
  
  My dad was a neonatologist and deepest love. I came into this world on his (our) birthday. He even decided the time I would be born, and in a way, I feel that my destiny and karma have been strongly influenced by him. With the privilege of reliable birth data, different systems have offered various lenses to uncover my Soul´s blueprint :
  5/2 Mental Projector in the Human Design experiment, 10 Tijax in the Mayan cosmovision, 10 of ♣️ in the birth card system, illuminated by the Sun in Leo in the 11th house and a Life Path number 11.
  Yet, beyond these frameworks, concepts and mental definitions, I continuously find myself coming back to my heart at the core of my being, asking myself with deep wonder and childlike curiosity:
  Who am I? ... What am I here for? & ... What does it mean to be alive?!
  
  In pursuit of this truth, I left the security of my marketing and sales career in 2017 to begin a journey of self-discovery.
  This path has taken me through conscious communities worldwide, spiritual teachings, energy healing, silent meditation, extended dark retreats, and master plant diets from the Amazon. the sanctuary is my offering to the Mystery of Life—
  a reflection of my Sadhana, my daily practice, and a space to honor Great Spirit.

  Ajuda

  More than a volunteer position, the sanctuary offers the opportunity to self-explore, heal, transform, and grow through community living where you can immerse yourself in diverse experiences that inspire growth and connection.
  Our homestead is a safe space where you can explore sustainable living and slow, mindful activities that nurture creativity and well-being.
  From cooking vegetarian meals, crafting herbal medicines, fermenting foods, and tending to the garden or watering plants, each activity offers an opportunity to engage with nature’s rhythms and cultivate harmony, balance, and a deeper sense of presence.
  
  Responsibilities
  Participate in the 4 Elements Roster:
  +Earth: Gardening, composting, or plant care.
  +Water: Cleaning shared areas like kitchens and bathrooms.
  +Fire: Assisting in meal prep or maintaining cozy communal spaces.
  +Air: Organizing, supporting projects, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  Contribute 5 workdays per week, 3 hours per day.
  Help host weekend retreats or wellness activities, enriching our vibrant, multicultural community.

  Some weekly activities offered include circling practices, Authentic Relating Games (ARG), Transformation Games,Cacao Ceremonies, Mayan Astrology Workshops, New Moon / Full Moon Rituals, Yoga, Meditation, and the daily Pancha Upachara Puja.
  
  We strive for integrity with ourselves and one another, trying to make space for healthier forms of conflict, play, silliness, and grief. We also really respect our alone time.
  We split costs for food, utilities & household goods.
  We have a variety of dietary preferences and restrictions that are happily accommodated.
  We usually cook vegetarian/vegan
  
  We are currently looking for help in the following positions:
  CLEANING CREW - General cleaning and housekeeping.
  SOCIAL MEDIA/MKT GURU - Updating social media, creating content and coordinating ad campaigns.
  GARDENING - Watering the plants, compost treatment, planting new trees, growing sprouts.
  GENERAL HELP - Lend a hand where it is needed, pay attention to what needs doing and take initiative.

  Acomodação

  Depending on availability, rooms offered will be private or double, fostering a sense of intimacy and comfort.
  We are located in a wonderful tropical humid climate, with much natural beauty to enjoy.
  We also share the space with four friendly dogs and one cat, so we hope you´ll love them as much as we do!

  If you are flying, the closest airport is Tapachula (TAP).
  If you are nearby Chiapas, ADO are local buses that offer continous routes into Tapachula.
  
  The farm is located 5 km away from Tapachula, and there is a shuttle that can take you to and from the main downtown market for 10 pesos.
  There is a waterfall just 20 minutes walking from us.
  You can go on your days off to explore all of the beauty that the local area has to offer.
  Our area is in the very South of Chiapas, the Soconusco region and the border with Guatemala.
  There are other projects around where you can meet interesting people who are working with the land.
  
  There are also Mayan Pryamids, waterfalls, beaches and hotsprings around the area. Lake Atitlan is aprox 4 hrs away from us. If you keep going North, there is: Palenque, the Agua Azul Waterfalls, the Montebello Lagoon, the Sumidero Canyon and the Lacandona Jungle, are all examples of the unique Mexican beauty found in Chiapas.

  Guatemala is 20 km away
  Tuxtla Gutierrez is 4 hours away from Tapachula
