This was our first workaway and it felt like we had struck gold. We were obviously initially nervous as this was our first experience, but this feeling dissapated very quickly after we met Esther and Balazs who put us at ease and made us feel very welcome in their family.
The work was plentiful and well directed but we also had autonomy to make

Our accommodation exceeded our expectations and gave us plenty of privacy.
Balazs and Esther were also very accommodating when it came to negotiating time off.

We were first a bit hesitant to make contact with Ellen and Robin as their intro message and their profile seemed a bit bland, but then we hopped on a video call with them and instantly connected. They were excellent workawayers and did not disappoint us for a second during their 4 week stay with us.
They were very efficient in organising their
… read more work, sometimes they worked together, other times they split the tasks, whichever worked best. They did a lot of painting (internal and external walls, loungers), cleaning inside and outside, packing things, and some gardening work. Robin took wonderful photos and did some general building maintenance. They also prepared us (we were a group of 7) very nice dishes every day, cleaned up in the kitchen and provided excellent company during meals (and during our whisky tasting sessions).
They often pointed out things that needed to be done or fixed and offered their help. Our little daughter Anna also loved their entertaining company.
Ellen and Robin are a very hardworking, caring, reliable and trustworthy couple with great humour. It was a pleasure to have them with us during these 4 weeks and we would love to have them back.

Our original plan was to stay for 3 weeks with Balazs, Ezster and Anna. However, due to concerns with traveling during the coronavirus pandemic we had to return home after week one. We were really grateful to find this host because our travel plans to Italy were cancelled and we needed something last minute. It was a bit challenging to travel to
… read more and from them (even from Madrid), but Balazs was really helpful in all of this which we really appreciate despite having changed our plans.
The best way to describe this workaway is more of an employer/employee relationship, which was a bit different for us. We were there to work, clean and cook for them, like we did for our other workaway hosts. However, here there was not a real connection which made it difficult. Similar to another review below, we too felt our personalities didn't mesh well with the hosts. While they expressed their gratitude for the work we completed, there was definitely a separation between the workawayers and hosts which makes it hard when being in the middle of nowhere. Overall, the accommodations and food were great and the work was good.
Thanks again for hosting us and we're sorry we had to leave early. We hope the best for you and your business this season.

Kayleigh and Declan are a cheerful couple, they always had a smile and some nice words for us. They live life to its fullest, enjoy working hard and know what to do with their free time.
During their stay they have rebuilt and reinforced a large flower bed with mortar, rendered part of the house wall and moved around mulch and gravel in the

They also cooked delicious meals and baked nice cookies/cakes, often for a group of 8-10 people.
They were very eager to learn and were ready to move out of their comfort zone when tackling new tasks. Our project was important to them, they often decided to put in some extra hours to finalise the works. They came up with lots of suggestions and creative solutions and did a thorough research before embarking on new tasks.
Kayleigh had a good eye for noticing things that needed taking care of (e.g. bringing in the laundry once it was dry).
We got to know Kayleigh and Declan as a hardworking, trustworthy couple, who at the same time can spread some good mood among the hosts and fellow workawayers. It was a pleasure to have them around and we hope to be able to host them again in the coming years.

Thankyou again for having us Balacz, Eszter & baby Anna. We really enjoyed getting to know you all, and meeting the lots of other workawayers coming and going. … read more took turns preparing meals. We shared cooking/cleaning tasks via the sling app, which was new to us but gave clear structure to the day!
The work was flexible and allowed for freedom to work throughout the day as we pleased. Balacz and Eszter were supportive of our job preferences and trusted us to complete tasks to a sufficient standard, which we really appreciated. They both have lots of different ideas for projects and we felt our suggestions were really welcome too.
We love learning new skills and Balacz and Eszter offered very helpful advice. Balacz always included us with any opportunities to learn more by exploring different tasks.
If you are looking for a calm and peaceful place with beautiful views, healthy food & relaxed evenings, then this place is perfect :)

To spend 4 weeks here has been a good and interesting experience for me. I mostly was looking after Anna, the 5 months old baby and we loved each other from the beginning. Eszter and Balazs were nice and friendly hosts, open for suggestions. They provided us workawayers with good food (mostly organic) and comfortable accommodation.

… read more beautiful and calm, but very remote. I luckily came with my own car and was able to visit interesting places like Granada and Córdoba and also enjoying smaller places nearby.
Cooking a few times for a group of 8/9 people was a new and good experience for me and it was a pleasure to watch how everyone enjoyed my cakes. I liked the company of the other workawayers; we had much fun playing cards in the evening.

Friederike has just left, and we already miss her. She stayed with us for a month and during this time she was a dedicated and loving grandmother to our baby. Anna just loved her. Friederike integrated quickly into our group of 6 helpers, who were mostly half of her age. They had great time together, played cards in the evenings, exchanged
… read more stories. We greatly appreciated that Friederike has a good eye for details and knows where to help in the household. When it was clear that something needed to be done (e.g. dishwasher to be unloaded, terrace to be swept, clothes to be ironed) she immediately took the initiative and took care of it. She also knew when to consult us before embarking on new tasks. Occasionally Friederike has also cooked for us, her meals were delicious without exception and 4 times she surprised us with her fantastic homemade cakes.
Every host would be lucky to have her as helper and certainly we would love to welcome her again in our home.

I stayed at Ester and Balacs place for about one month and had a good time helping them around the garden.
They are both nice and kind people and their baby anna is a joyful little girl who will always entertain you during lunch and dinner.

… read more hard time to connect to them and I felt like there's a separation between them and the workawayers. After a few talks about this issue it got a lot better and I think we had overall a nice time together. In conclusion they are good hosts, have a beautiful house and garden and some relaxing tasks for you.
I just think they and I are just a tiny bit too different so we could not connect straight away.

The accommodation is very comfortable, great spaces to practice Yoga or just have a chill out session. Balazs & Eszter are fantastic hosts. They are great communicators, and take the time to discuss the tasks and are open to creative suggestions from everyone.
