  Our beautiful hobby farm is situated in Speewah, in the Cairns hinterlands. We are quite isolated and this is how we love it! In saying that, we are a 30 minutes drive to Cairns with everything at your fingertips.
  
  We live on the land growing our food and have many animals. There is always plenty of tasks outside to be done, building and maintaining is constant here. Lots of help in the gardens is always needed. We love living a natural, quiet life in harmony with nature and our beautiful surroundings. We are up early with animals to attend to and the cow to milk in the evenings. I breed ducks and am currently extending my breeding areas and cages.
  
  
  We have creeks flowing through our property and a stunning swimming hole within a 15 minutes walk. Every morning we go for a walk and welcome the day in, this is paradise, surrounded by mountains, tucked in a valley, the views take your breath away. The perfect place for bush walking and taking some time to reconnect with nature and self. Our free time is spent bush walking and kayaking.
  
  We have a 2 and a half year old son that is my biggest helper and absolute world. We are a home free of drugs, alcohol and smoking, including vaping. People that are welcomed into our home definitely must be respectful of a quiet way of life we lead. There is a bus that runs to and from Cairns and the tablelands twice daily that is 10 minutes from our home. Kuranda is a quirky village that is a huge tourist destination and always worth a morning to look around.
  
  We have little phone service and internet. We have no TV and our home is mostly phone free.

  I would love to share ideas and knowledge of food, both in growing and preparation. I am interested in learning about others culture, rituals and general way of life. Once a week we often kayak, bush walk with friends, go to markets, attend bee meetings and there is always the opportunity to connect to the wider community. We have a good knowledge of the surrounding areas.

  Ajuda

  If you love the outdoors and getting dirty, you are most welcome here. We need help in the gardens, maintaining fence lines, building small projects, collecting animal manure, feeding animals, cooking .... the list goes on forever. I am outside most of the day and would love some help and company doing things together. Often my little helper makes getting jobs done difficult and I would love someone to help out. A love for animals is a must, we have 3 dogs, an inside cat, horses, cows, goats, ducks, chickens... they all need feeding too. We walk to the local river most days, it really is magical. There will be times to relax and adventure.

  We have a home that we are building, this is an ongoing project for the past 5 years. The home is very open and close to nature. We have 3 finished bedrooms in the home. The room that will be provided is neat and clean with a double bed. The shower is rustic, and the toilet is a composting toilet. Food is simple and healthy, some off the land, this is also a working progress.

  Quiet, easy way of life here. No phones, parties or disrespectful behavior. We have a little boy who is like a sponge, watching, growing and learning. Being a positive role model is important. There will be plenty of time rest, relax, to explore and adventure. I would love some creativity and music coming into my life. Someone who could bring a fun creative project into the home to transform areas. The bus is a 10-minute drive and happy to drop you there otherwise we go to town once a week.
