  We are a young family (Ruby,Tom, Elke and Caspar) living on a bushy block in the Byron Shire. Our place has a lovely feel of being remote whilst still being a close walk/drive/cycle into our nearest town.
  We love to spend time at the beach and out camping, socialising or at home cooking up yummy feasts. We value good, local food, growing what we can and minimising our environmental footprint. We love travel and we love our kids to meet people from different cultures and places, so we welcome the chance to host.

  We love to learn from people of different cultures - stories, food, language, customs all interest us. We hope that during your stay we will each learn from each other and share stories over dinner, outings to the beach and maybe even a camping trip if the timing is right.
  We are a handy family with knowledge about building, gardening, cooking, camping and lots more!

  Ajuda

  We value that everyone has diverse interests and skillsets and we like to work with that where we can. There are lots of jobs to do on the block, from gardening, helping with house projects, folding laundry, helping with the animals, spending time with the kids and cooking meals. We like the idea of our children meeting and being around our Workaway friends so we also like to share meals and do some activities together, however we are a busy family and so there will be a healthy balance of us each doing our own thing too.

  Acomodação

  Workawayers will either stay in our beautiful spare room, semi-attached to our house (shared bathroom and kitchen) or a self-contained studio with kitchen, bathroom and separate bedroom (depending on availability).
  
  Our preference is to share dinners and for our Workaways to organise their own breakfast and lunch. We value sharing dinner time as a way to get to know each other and learn about our Workaways, however this can be up for discussion. We will adjust hours worked to reflect how much food is shared.

  Our place is walking distance to Mullumbimby (25 minutes walking or a short bike ride - we can lend bikes if we are not using), although it is ideal to have a car in the Byron Shire. We can give lifts here and there but cannot be relied on for this at all times.
  There is a pool at the property that you are welcome to swim in and read a book by in your free time. There are some lovely daybeds on the balcony for some quiet relaxing too.
  Surfing at our local beaches is great and we are happy to tell you about good local bush walks and daytrips. Alternatively you may wish to join our family in whatever fun we are getting up to.
  Our home is most appropriate for people who are comfortable with the noise and chaos of having energetic young children around (1 and 4 years old). We are not a party house and while we have a beer here and there or a glass of wine, heavy alcohol consumption is not permitted.
  Our home and property is non-smoking so please only apply if you are a non-smoker.

  Our internet is generally good, though it is patchy in the spare room and can cut our here and there. Phone reception at the property is bad, though you can set up Wifi-calling. We have just come back from travelling and the office is not yet set up. We may need your help preparing it.
