Sophie is very open, easy to get on with , and an interesting person to talk to, loves animals, nature and I loved having her here for a week. I had 'project windows'. I highly recommend Sophie for not only working on projects, but also for animal and housesitting, she has a mature outlook on life, is highly responsible, and is a very pleasant person to have around. It was her first Workaway experience and a great and happy success for both of us. I hope she will come back, she enjoyed the peace, meditating in the evenings in the quiet Gascon countryside, loving walking, playing with the naughty dogs..

I had an amazing time staying at Amanda’s place. The week flew by, and I really felt at home there. Amanda is a kind, open, and helpful woman, always ready to assist with anything you need. I also appreciated the flexibility in arranging my hours. Painting the windows was both fun and educational for me. During the week, I stayed in my own camper,

Alex and Andi are the most wonderful couple! They came for 2 weeks and stayed for over 3.
They are both highly considerate, kind and generous people. Their work ethic is brilliant, they give far more than expected and deserve to be recompensed grandly.

When the weather turned, they moved onto decorating. The really horrid job of painting ancient beams in the sitting room, was carried out with humour, chattering away with German music! It was horrible long job and I will be eternally grateful for the transformation of the room. Plus all the shifting around of furniture.
So many little jobs were achieved, I'm so grateful. We had a lot of laughs, chatting about decorating ideas and many other interesting subjects.
I would also recommend these two also for housesitting and animal sitting - they are really top, and totally trustworthy. I very much hope to see them again, but wish them both huge success and fun on their journey. anyone lucky enough to have these two must absolutely treat them well!
We spent three weeks at Amanda's and felt almost at home from the very beginning. We had our own house, and Amanda always respected our privacy, which made the stay very comfortable. The work hours were flexible, allowing us to manage our time effectively.

We also had plenty of fun conversations with Amanda. She is a very positive and warm-hearted person.
We are truly grateful to Amanda for the amazing stay and the wonderful time we spent with her. We will definitely be back to spend time with the "golden" woman.
Kathe is a delightful person. Happy, positive, willing. I invited her to come for a couple of weeks as our holiday home was in need of a deep clean. Our stay at Amanda and Colin’s was amazing.
The holiday home that we stayed in was excellent. Really comfortable and practical.

Hello Amanda and Colin,
ist was a fantastic two weeks stay at your Vinery.

Timo and Lisa have been with us in SW France for over 2 weeks. They loved having our holiday Winery for themselves and I bought them/gave them money for their food.
We are absolutely thrilled with everything they did for us. The first job was a very heavily weeded big flower bed which took ages, then masses of horse manure, it hasn't looked so
… read more good for ages. We then had project 'Painting Outdoor Furniture' They were really thorough preparing the tables and chairs, and painting very carefully. Then we had some huge outdoor gates, again they prepared them well, painted them, and Timo worked out very carefully how to fix them. He is very skilled in working jobs out, and doing a really good job. I needed a gas hob fitted in exchange for a broken electric one, it was not an easy job, but again he worked out methodically how to do it - Brilliant. Next a broken tap needed replacing, again not easy and in a very small space - all fixed! They also cleared a very overgrown area of tall trees, brambles etc. They worked really hard, tidied it all up and put on bonfire.
They are young, very competent, polite, and will go far in life. A great duo! We wish them a very happy year's trip on their travels, now in the sunny Pyrenees and having a well deserved rest.
Anyone luckily enough to have these two working with them will not be disappointed! Thank you Timo, Thank you Lisa.

We came upon Amanda and Colin, an energetic and friendly couple while we were looking for a place to socialise our 3 month old puppy who we had acquired from our last workaway hosts (A very happy tale), we could have stayed where we were but felt the change in environment was necessary for pup. We are so grateful for them trusting us with such a
… read more young puppy in their lovely accommodation and to amazing Beattie and Cissy for setting a good example to our Tiny. It was definitely the right decision for us to stay there.
During our February fortnight we experienced both sunburn and snow. The house is situated on top of a hill with the most fabulous views in every direction. We couldn’t believe it, you really can see the Pyrenees!
We had a great couple of weeks at Amanda and Colin’s. This is an ideal workaway for a couple especially with a vehicle, we stayed very out of season so we had the fabulous treat of staying in their beautifully appointed annexe/gite. We were very independent, cooking and eating in our accommodation with groceries Amanda had thoughtfully provided and we worked from a list of jobs Amanda and Colin had provided for us. The aim of this Workaway is to provide help with the upkeep of the property and land but it’s a bonus if you have experience with horses or computers.
We really liked that we could take the work at our own pace and in an order that made sense to us. They are very flexible and as long as the list of jobs was worked through they didn’t mind how we organised our days. One day we might take a drive for some tourism and a dog walk in the morning (The best sunrises ever can be seen there!) then work in the afternoon sunshine and another rainy day we might not get out at all but spend the evening helping Amanda with the IT of her new business. They were very happy for us to take to the tool shed and get on with things, Bobbie even found lots of extra things to fix up, much to Amanda’s pleasure! Common sense and initiative will be met with much appreciation.
Side Note
The house is really quite remote so having our car with us made our stay that bit more fun. If you stay and have a car, a great reasonably priced pizza place with indoor and outdoor seating is Les Bouchees Doubles in La Sauvetat. Worth a visit, very friendly even if your French is as awful as ours and look out for the loo with a view!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

The two weeks Bobbie and Natalie have spent with us (plus Tiny the collie pup) has been fun, creative, hard work and incredibly helpful. I had a long list of outside jobs which all got done. Preparing veg patch for this year, lots of pruning, bonfires, cutting back brambles, tip runs, picking up huge hay bales, using the karcher around the pool
… read more terraces, oiling garden furniture, mending all sorts of things outside (Bobbie just sees something that needs mending and does it!) and also really being helpful with improving my basic website (Natalie created a logo just like that), brilliant with wording, social media - oh my gosh these 2 were super brilliant.
We had lots of fun, in February they worked in hot sunshine, in rain, and finally snow!
I am so grateful for these 2 weeks of such lovely people who actually have COMMON SENSE so don't have to ask all the time, they just got on and did it, explored the workshop and off they went. Bobbie had a few creative moments of fun - an arch with the wisteria and rose was created, bits and pieces she found were put to good creative use outside.
Tiny the Collie pup loved being with our 2 dogs, Bobbie fell in love with BugBug the Shetland and walked him each evening. He is missing her! these 2 are absolutely10* Workawayers! Am really grateful.

Lena and Flo are simply fabulous couple. we loved having them with us. I had a very long list of things to do inside and outside. And everything got done! They work brilliantly together cutting down trees, pruning fruit trees, clearing flower beds..and are wonderful at tidying it all up as well.
Flo loved the workshop, which on their departure
… read more was really tidied up! He is a thinker for projects, with his engineering background he works things out and then the task is beautifully carried out. all sorts of inside jobs got done that I've been waiting for ages to have done.
We had some great chats over dinner sometimes, but mainly they loved being in our self contained Winery where they were comfortable with the wood pellet stove, and enjoyed their evenings together. They loved their time away in the Pyrenees.
I left them both to organise their days and hours to suit them, and I think they appreciated this. No clock watching!
the weather wasn't brilliant so Lena and I didn't get to do riding together which was a great pity. She worked BugBug the shetland with the Parelli method and both he and she enjoyed their time!
I recommend this lovely couple 100%, we hope to remain friends.

We stayed with Amanda and Colin for three weeks. Right from the first evening, we got on really well and quickly felt at home.
The many tasks in the house and garden were very varied and easy to do. Amanda and Colin left the organisation and planning of the tasks to us. This allowed us to organise our weekends very flexibly. A trip to the
… read more Pyrenees is highly recommended and can be reached quickly by car. The vegetable market nearby every Friday is a paradise for anyone who loves fresh seasonal vegetables! We went twice with Amanda and did most of our weekly shopping there.
Lena did some exercises with BugBug the (escaping) Shetland pony on the sand arena. Amanda's two other horses are very playful and it's fun to watch them play in the meadow. Unfortunately the weather was too bad to go for a ride but it was nice to have the horses close by while we worked in the garden.
The tasks included pruning the trees in the garden, removing thorn bushes and sawing up fallen branches. Amanda also created many beautiful beds around the house, some of which we prepared for winter and pruned the roses.
We felt very comfortable and welcome. That's why we extended our stay straight away.
We would highly recommend Amanda and Colin to anyone if you want to spend a lovely time in a picturesque countryside with great people.
We would come back any time and we are very happy to have met two such wonderful people.

Chloe arrived on 20th March and stayed for a week, since with Covid she was unable to travel abroad for her week's holiday from her normal job. Her cousin Ylona came also.
