  We are a family of four people: Karl from Austria (58), Edit from Hungary (47) and our two girls Lea (13) and Mira (10). In the year 2011 we moved to Nagyszékely and started our organic garden. We can use 1,4 ha of land. Our permacultural forest-garden is developing very well. It contains many fruit-trees and other trees (for instance for firewood and buiding material), vegetables and herbs. We have made the most important steps, and every new step is an adventure.
  
  Our place is situated in a small village called Nagyszékely, somewhere halfway between Budapest and Pécs. The landscape is quite hilly, we are surrounded by forests and agricultural monocultures as well.
  
  This “dead-end“ village has a special energy and attracts many interesting people including gardeners, craftsmen and people who just like the silence. The local community is quite active and is organising several events throughout the whole year, but usually the village is very quiet and an ideal place for escaping from stressy city-life.
  
  Usually your help is needed in the following activities:
  
  1. planting, weeding, watering, scything and mulching
  2. turn and mix the compost piles
  3. harvesting
  4. making preserves for the winter
  5. cooking & household
  6. sometimes there are some other projects as well like building and maintaining
  
  We can accommodate one workawayer or one couple or one family with max. 2 children (should be in the age of our children, so that they can play with each other).
  
  It is also helpful to bring your bicycle in order to move comfortably in the village and in the surrounding areas.
  
  Please don't bring your dog(s) or other pets/animal(s)!

  We need help mainly in the garden, cooking, household and looking after the children. But depending on the skills of the volunteers there are building/constructing tasks as well.

  accomodation usually in tents, but in emergency cases (heavy rain or cold period) you can sleep in the house.

  The village of Nagyszékely is located between Budapest and Pécs and not very far from the big lake Balaton. It is easy to come here by train and bus (intercity train until Pincehely, 15 minutes by bus from there).
