Charlie, Mö and Hilda the puppy left their wonderful footprints on our land! … read more and when. We shared some lovely food and time together. Hilda and Dante became firm puppy friends and spent many happy hours playing and exploring the land together. Everything was left tidy and clean on their departure. I highly recommend Charlie Mö and Hilda to the workaway community and I would not hesitate to welcome them back in the future.
We stayed in the yurte for 7 weeks (January and February) and had a supergood time! The oranges, mandarines, avocado and grapefruit were plenty and ready to eat. There is a supernice view on Sierra-Nevada and other surrounding Mountain. The almond-trees started to bloom, birds were singing and the two puppys (Dante, who lives with debbie and

Debbie and Vic were the perfect hosts, who respected our privacy and very open and easy to communicate with. On some weekends, they cooked spanish cuisine for and with us. During the week, we cooked for ourselves in the super equipped kitchen close to the yurte. The nice wood-burner/stove in the yurte, a good outdoor toilet and (warm) outdoor shower made the off-grid experience luxurious for us. We could walk into the nice, lively small town Orgiva in 15 minutes to do grocerys or have a drink.
The expectations totally matched. We looked after Puppy-Dante, when Debbie was out, and did some light renovation, general maintenance and diy-building work. Also a nice holiday-vibe, we left the place very relaxed and with full energy level, ready for the next adventure!
Raphaelle and Muhammed were a pleasure to have on the land. They were more than capable and enthusiastic to carry out jobs and completing them perfectly. … read more nice. We had a great time making pizzas together in Debbies pizza oven and Vic invited us to a ceramics class in his lovely studio, which we enjoyed very much. The land is so calm and quiet, a very peaceful place. We felt lucky to have been able to stay a whole month.

Although this was a new experience for them, working in this environment, both Atilio and Augustina were very enthusiastic and keen to learn. Some of the work they carried out included digging and clearing acequias, composting fruit trees, helping to burn tree
… read more cuttings and general land maintainence. They intgrated well into life on the land and enjoyed social activities on and off the land in the local village. They kept the casita clean and tidy and made sure Suso had plenty of care and attention. Augustina and Atilio are a very happy, positive, capable couple and it was a pleasure to have their company and help. I would highly recommend them to the workaway community.
Atilio y Agustina han estado tres semanas con nosotros y han sido de gran ayuda. Aunque el trabajo fuera una experiencia nueva para ellos, ambos estaban siempre dispuestos para aprender y ayudar. Su trabajo consistió principalmente en cavar y limpiar acequias, abonar frutales, ayudar en la quema de la poda y mantenimiento general. Se integraron muy bien en la vida de la casa y disfrutaron de la vida social del pueblo. Mantuvieron la casita limpia y ordenada y cuidaron muy bien de Suso.
Son una pareja feliz, positiva y muy capacitada para este trabajo y su compañía y ayuda fue un placer. Les recomiendo muy positivamente para la comunidad workaway.

En nuestro tiempo libre, exploramos la zona circundante y quedamos impresionado por la belleza natural. También tuvimos una clase de cerámica con Vic, un gran maestro, fue una experiencia increíble. A pesar de no tener experiencia previa, él fue muy profesional y nos guió de manera experta para que pudiéramos obtener nuestra primera pieza de cerámica. Su enfoque claro y habilidades pedagógicas nos permitieron aprender con facilidad y disfrutar del proceso creativo. Sin duda, fue una clase inolvidable y altamente recomendable para cualquier persona interesada en la cerámica.
Tanto Debbie como Vic nos integraron en sus actividades personales como yoga y eventos de artes, y nos dieron la oportunidad de conocer a sus amigos. En apenas un par de horas de conocernos, nos sentimos parte de su entorno.
No podemos pasar por alto que en la casa estaba Suso (un gato) y Brand (un perro), muy cariñosos que sin duda fueron los compañeros perfectos durante nuestra estadía. No solo eran simpáticos y juguetones, sino que también tenían una presencia cálida y acogedora.
Recomendaríamos encarecidamente la casa de Debbie a cualquiera que busque una experiencia de Workaway significativa y gratificante.

We stayed at Debbie's house for 3 weeks, it was just an amazing experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome and at home. Debbie is an exceptional host, always going out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. In addition, the pace of the work was very relaxed, allowing us plenty of free time to explore the town of Órgiva and enjoy its charms. The work itself was varied and interesting, and we learned a lot about sustainable living and gardening. In our free time, we explored the surrounding area and were impressed by the natural beauty. We also had a pottery class with Vic, a great teacher, which was an amazing experience. Despite having no previous experience, he was very professional and guided us expertly so that we could get our first piece of pottery. His clear approach and pedagogical skills allowed us to learn with ease and enjoy the creative process. It was definitely an unforgettable lesson and highly recommended for anyone interested in ceramics.
Both Debbie and Vic integrated us into their personal activities such as yoga and arts events, and gave us the opportunity to meet their friends. Within just a couple of hours of getting to know each other, we felt part of their circle.
We can't overlook the fact that in the house there was Suso (a cat) and Brand (a dog), very affectionate and without a doubt the perfect companions during our stay. Not only were they friendly and playful, but they also had a warm and welcoming presence.
We would highly recommend Debbie's house to anyone looking for a meaningful and rewarding Workaway experience.

… read more the neighboring Pueblos Blancos - was amazed by Soportujar in particular. She is a great cook and very knowledgeable about the area and gardening/maintaining off-the-grid home. Vic made fantastic Paella and gave me a pottery lesson. I left with two ceramic bowls that were my own creation.
Highlights from this trip included:
-Befriending Debbie & Vic (I feel like I could be welcome back at any time)
-Hiking through Las Alpujarras
-Large Thursday markets
-Going out to a local concert with Debbie, Vic and their friends
-Morning walks with their dog Bran
-Lounging on the patio with their cat Shoshu

Our role was mainly house-sit/pet care and only part Workaway, Debbie was very clear with what she wanted done and also was great at letting you choose what you did and was quite relaxed, as it was very hot!
