Hello everyone!
We run a beach hostel in Florianopolis and look for nice people to join us and help us with some tasks.
Located just 2 blocks from the beach, our hostel is a family run business,with a cozy and friendly environment so we like to have around people who share the same care for the place as a big family.
We require at least 4 weeks stay. Please make sure to mention the date you are planning to come so we can check if it’s possible to host you.
HELP NEEDED:
-Cleaning
-Reception
-Painting
-Photography
-Arts/decoration
-Other small tasks in our daily routine
(all tasks include cleaning and a bit of everything but it’s not a hard work at all) as we also have 2 employs helping out and doing the main task as they work full time
-Fluent Portuguese or Spanish is a plus, good spoken English are required if you dont speak spanish or portuguese (you need to be able to communicate with the guests either in Portuguese, Spanish or English)

HOURS:
-One day on, one day off (24h per week) for ex ... 8hs monday, off tuesday, 8hs wednesday, off thurday.

ABOUT THE ISLAND:
Florianopolis is one of the most beautifull islands in Brazil surrounded by lakes, dunes, native forests and dozens of idyllic beaches. There are lots of outdoor activities here like surfing, hiking, soccer, capoeira, beach volleyball, beach tennis... You can also just chill in one of the many beaches around or explore the urban side of the island. Believe me, you’ll fall in love with this place and will never get bored.

Florianópolis is a hub for backpackers and travelers from everywhere! Here you’ll have the chance to interact either with locals and foreigners, practice different languages, learn about the local culture, learn how to play capoeira (free classes nearby) and other sports... and of course, share your own story, experiences and whatever you have to offer.
Ajuda
Help with reception, general cleaning, organizing, eventual handy tasks, taking care of the guests needs.
One day in and one day off .
We have also a local permanent staff who can help and support you in all the activities at the hostel.

In your free time you can beach bum, go surfing, hiking, sand boarding, kayaking, play soccer, beach volleyball, beach tennis, explore the nature around, visit the Tamar Project (a non profit organization to protect the sea wildlife) learn about the local fisherman village and improve your language skills.
There's a bus stop a few steps from the hostel and all the basic facilities are at a walking distance (grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, souvenir shop).
*PS: there’s no ATM here. The closest one is located 8km (5mi) away. Most of places accept credit and debit card.
