  Hello fellow travellers!
  
  My children (10 year old daughter and 3 year old son) have just returned home from 2 months of travelling in Argentina and would love to host some WorkAway travelers in our home to keep the international experience flowing. When my daughter was 3 we spent 3 months traveling through New Zealand and enjoyed several WorkAway placements. We have also hosted several Work Away travellers when my daughter was younger. Furthermore, I spent 7 years of my youth travelling the globe with my family on a small, rusty, boat called 'Dapper Dan', and now it seems only natural to incorporate the world's new generation of adventurers into our home.
  
  Welcome to the paradise that is Vancouver Island. (Ssh don't tell too many people) :)
  
  We currently live at the heart of the historic village of Cumberland that boasts a broad range of outdoor activities, from mountain biking, to climbing to paddling at the lake!
  
  I am looking for someone to spend the summer having fun sharing our home with us in exchange for helping with cooking and some minimal childcare. Mostly I work from home but I work event so there are frequent evenings and weekends when I sometimes am unable to cover childcare. During the week both kids are in School/preschool.
  
  We have a bright home with a garden and large patio area, fire pit and bbq, and you would have your own bedroom and access to your own bathroom inside our home. We have unlimited high speed Wifi if you also need to work from home.
  
  We would love to share our suppers with you when it suits, but we can also offer you your own independence and a bike to enjoy the area on your off days. When possible we can also drive you to local areas to show you just how incredible Vancouver Island is, from snow-capped mountains, to the Salish Sea and all the islands in between.
  
  We are a short flight from Vancouver or a 2 hour ferry ride + hour drive. We are one hour north of Nanaimo, and 3 hours north of Victoria.

  The village of Cumberland where we live (we are a 5 minute walk from the centre) is home to a wonderful array of small boutique shops, great cafes and access to hundreds of famous mountain biking trails! A 15 minute bike ride away there is also a huge lake - "Comox Lake" . You could use our bike to access all this, and even take Lyla sometimes in the Chariot. We are also not too far from the larger town of Courtenay (accessible by a 15 minute bus ride) that has all the large chain box stores and our major grocery shops. The ocean is also not too far away so there are endless exciting day trips to be made.

  Ajuda

  Your primary role would be to support with cooking healthy meals for the family. I am a single parent and work from home and cooking is not my favourite activity. I would also look for occasional help with child care. My 10 year old goes to school Tuesday - Friday and my son is in pre-school. However, I work in events so my work hours are a bit sporadic which means that I sometimes need help with childcare on evenings and weekends.

  I am very interested to practice my languages, English is my first language but I also speak basic Spanish, German and French so have interest in all of those.

  Acomodação

  Private room with double bed, and access to partially shared bathroom outside of your room with bath and shower.
  We share the spacious living area and kitchen.
  We have a lovely big back deck, as well as a garden space around the home.
  We will be happy to provide groceries for you for the week and would like to share cooking evenly.
  We mostly eat organic food with a heavy emphasis on vegetables and non-processed foods, good coffee, great chocolate and phenomenal cheese!

  My daughter and I have just spent the winter travelling in New Zealand and really appreciated the wonderful WorkAway experiences we had there. Now we would love to return the favour and share our home and world with you. We will do our best to show you around the stunning area on our days off and be as accommodating as possible to make it a great experience for you.
