Hello there : )
My Name is Werner, I'm 55yo and I work as a wood sculptor. I live on a small farm, a typical Swiss farmhouse surrounded by the nature with my intern Simon and, at times, my daughter Jana (30yo).
The farmhouse is immersed in the beautiful, naturalistic region of Emmental.
It's a pretty quiet place, surrounded by hills, forests and a few other farmhouses, not far from the small town of Langnau and only 40 km away from Berne, which is reachable with public transportation.
The farm family is made up of about 50 sheeps, 4 rabbits, a dog, Nina, as well as some cats, therefore a pair of hands in assisting with that would also be greatly useful!
There are two vegetable gardens and a greenhouse, so fresh and bio products are always available.
You would help on the farm, in the gardens and in art projects.
There are also a couple of ateliers which you could use to be creative (painting, carving, wood/ceramic sculpture).
It's s also interesting for a couple because we have a separate studio .
We are looking forward to get to know many interesting people!

Food: We offer good and healthy food.
Nature: the farmhouse property includes the surrounding hills and forests: feel free to delve into the nature, relax and connect with the earth and the animals, enjoying suggestive hiking and stunning landscapes from the top of the hills.
Tradition: Here you can discover the lifestyle of a farm inclusive of animals, barns and old typical Swiss houses.
Art and culture: art is everywhere here. The art farm is scattered with open air sculptures and I often go to vernissage, museums and galleries. I'd be glad to bring you with me and introduce you to my artist friends and to the Swiss art world. Feel also welcomed to use the two ateliers of the farm for painting, carving, sculpting with wood and ceramic, and experience the cultural events taking place!

GARDENING
Help in our organic and regenerative gardens is pretty always needed.
FARMING
Very welcome an extra pair of hands in the farm, such as the sheep barn or their pasture (fairly simple activity, they do almost everything themselves!) and similar tasks.
DIY
I would be also happy to receive some assistance with small DIY projects in the house.
ART PROJECTS
If you are interested and passionate abut it, you could provide some assistance in organizing no-profit art and culture events, which promote the encounter with different cultures, such as Latin America and their ceremonies that celebrate Nature, other than festivals, film screenings, readings and courses for plants and gardening.
Our farmhouse, is a cultural farm place of art and intercultural exchange, as well as of regenerative agriculture!

You could go for a swim in the river Emme, take a hike in the small hills of Emmental and discover the rural enchanting Switzerland. For a more urban contact, instead, you can visit the cities of Langnau and Bern.

I got to wake up early and enjoy fresh Switz hillside air, along with his lovely dog Nina.

The work was about cleaning the different places were the sculptures are, because people were coming to visit the farm and see them.
I could try a little bit to work on wood which was nice, and the surroundings are really beautiful, a good place to walk or hike :)

There were also interesting cultural exchanges and meetings there.
There are enough work, the schedule is being observed. Especially a lot of work in the summer tine . there were three of us who helped Werner - a wonderful team

Here is normally share the time with other workaways, that is very nice.
Werner taught me about the kitchen garden, i did some works with his scultures, i make a staircase for his house and he was very grateful for my effort.
I recommend this host.
If you go hiking, the suroundings are beautiful with amazings views on the Alps from the top of the hill. We really appreciated the food, healthy and coming directly from the garden!
