Detalhes
Descrição
We are Karen & Tom. In 2014 we bought our lovely old farm house with nearly 10 acres of land in the Haute Vienne. We set about renovating and modernising the house and it is now nearly finished. We have two friendly Labradors Oscar and Billy who love playing and roaming around the land. There is always so much to do to look after the property, land, dogs and gardens but as this is largely outside we get to enjoy the peace, the fresh air, and the good views are also not too bad!
In 2021 we opened a small camping area at the property and we enjoy meeting the folk who come to camp here. We are not really looking for help in running the camping area, it's more the general garden, land and property maintenance and dog walking that we are looking for support with. Some of the things we often need help with include painting inside and out, wood store tasks, re-digging the drainage ditch, dog walking, gardening and grass cutting.Tipos de ajuda e oportunidades de aprendizado

They will be able to see what its like living in a rural property in France . What has to be done to maintain the property, lands and gardens on a regular basis. We live in a beautiful and peaceful area and time spent here is undoubtedly good for the soul!

We always need help with - mowing and strimming. We have 2 dogs, which always need walking. Regular property and land maintenance tasks tend to include things like painting, wood store tasks, drainage ditch clearance, tree pruning. These are some of the likely tasks you would be involved in, but in no way is this a definitive to do list, it's just an idea of what's on our agenda.

If you are arriving by plane the nearest airport is Limoges and depending upon your proposed length of stay (for example more than a month) we could discuss collecting you from there. Alternatively the nearest main train stations are La Souterraine, Le Dorat, or Bellac which we could collect you from.
We would expect you to bring appropriate work clothes and boots.
You would take meals with us and we would expect some input towards cooking and cleaning up (although we do have a dishwasher). We are happy to welcome vegetarian workawayers but we would find catering full time for a vegan diet difficult.
We are situated in a very rural area with no public transport. It would be possible to borrow our bicycles to visit the local area however. There are quite a lot of areas of interest to visit locally. If you have a car it would be easy to access many of these.
Our main language is English and we get by fairly well in French but by no means fluently.
No smoking in the house.
We have full Internet access.
Possibility of a TV in your bedroom with English Channels.Mais alguns detalhes
