  Hello and welcome!
  We are a small family of two – a mum and her 9-year-old daughter – living in beautiful Aarau, Switzerland.
  
  We are looking for a kind, calm and open-minded Workawayer to join us for a few weeks from September until mid-October 2026.
  Our home is a warm, relaxed and welcoming place. Mum works a lot from home, while our daughter is at school during the week. We love music, baking, good conversations, cosy evenings and discovering other cultures.
  
  We are currently preparing for a move, which means there is a little more going on than usual! Over the years, quite a lot of things have accumulated, especially children's clothes, toys, games and household items. We would love some help sorting, organising and letting go of things that are no longer needed.
  
  But this is not simply about cleaning or decluttering.
  We are hoping to find someone who enjoys becoming part of everyday life with us – someone who is happy to help around the house, but who also enjoys spending time with our daughter, sharing a meal, baking something together, listening to music or simply having a good conversation.
  
  We are particularly interested in female Workawayers, as we feel this would be a natural and comfortable fit for our mother-daughter household.
  
  We are easy-going and believe that a good Workaway experience should feel like a genuine exchange rather than a job. We value kindness, reliability, respect and a good sense of humour much more than perfection.
  
  You will have your own private room and bathroom, and we are happy to give you plenty of space and independence.
  At the same time, you are very welcome to become part of our little family life.

  AVAILABILITY
  September – mid-October 2026
  We are flexible regarding the exact dates within this period and are happy to discuss what works best for both sides.
  We would ideally love someone who can stay for several weeks, so that we have enough time to get to know each other and settle into a nice rhythm.

  🌿 The kind of person we are looking for
  We don't have a long list of requirements.
  We would simply love to meet someone who is:
  Kind and respectful
  Calm and easy-going
  Reliable and responsible
  Comfortable around children
  Happy to help with practical things
  Independent and able to enjoy their own time
  Open-minded and curious about other cultures
  Comfortable with both closeness and personal space
  Someone who notices what needs doing and is happy to lend a hand
  Ideally female, as this feels like the best fit for our mother-daughter home
  You don't need to be perfect.
  You don't need to have lots of experience.
  And you certainly don't need to know exactly what you will be doing every day.
  A positive attitude, common sense and a kind heart are worth much more to us.
  🧘‍♀️ Our family rhythm
  Our home is generally quite calm.
  Mum works a lot from home, so there are times during the day when the house is quiet.
  Our daughter is at school during the week.
  We enjoy spending time together, but we also really value privacy and downtime.
  For us, the ideal Workawayer is someone who understands that sometimes we might have dinner together and chat for hours – and sometimes everyone simply wants to do their own thing.
  We believe that being comfortable with both togetherness and independence makes living together much easier and more enjoyable.

  You help us during a particularly busy period in our lives, especially with sorting, organising and making our upcoming move a little easier.
  In return, we offer you a comfortable home, your own private space, a glimpse into everyday Swiss life and the opportunity to become part of our little mother-daughter world for a while.
  We would love to share food, music, stories, baking, laughter and everyday moments with you.

  CULTURAL EXCHANGE & LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
  This is one of the things we are most excited about!
  We would love to learn about your country, your culture, your food, your music and your way of life – and of course share a little bit of Swiss life with you.
  We love baking, cooking and music, so there are plenty of opportunities for cultural exchange.
  Maybe you teach us how to make your favourite recipe.
  Maybe we bake something Swiss together.
  Maybe we listen to music from your home country.
  Maybe you teach our daughter a few words in your language.
  Or maybe we simply sit down over a cup of coffee or tea and talk about life.
  We are very open to sharing experiences and learning from each other.
  We also speak English and would be happy to use English as our main language during your stay.
  
  LANGUAGES
  English: Preferred / very good communication
  We speak German and English and French.
  We are happy to communicate mainly in English during your stay and would also be happy to share some German with you.

  Ajuda

  We are looking for help with a mixture of household, organising and family tasks.
  There is no rigid list of daily chores – we would rather work out together what makes sense depending on the day and on your interests.
  
  *Around the house
  Sorting and organising children's clothes
  Sorting toys, games and books
  Helping us decide what to donate, recycle or pass on
  Decluttering cupboards, shelves and storage areas
  Helping us clear out things that have accumulated over the years
  General tidying and light household tasks
  Helping with laundry or dishes from time to time
  Preparing or cooking a simple meal
  Some light gardening
  Helping with small projects connected to our upcoming move
  
  *With our daughter
  Our daughter is 9 years old and goes to school.
  We would love someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children. You don't need to be a professional childcare worker – being warm, responsible, patient and fun is much more important to us.
  Depending on your interests and our schedules, you might:
  Accompany her on the way to or from school
  Spend some time playing together
  Bake together
  Do something creative
  Listen to music
  Help with homework
  Go outside or to the playground
  Simply hang out and have a chat
  
  Sometimes the most helpful thing might simply be having another friendly person around.
  We are not looking for a full-time nanny or housekeeper. We are looking for someone who enjoys helping as part of a cultural and personal exchange.

  You will have your own private bedroom with your own private bathroom, giving you plenty of privacy and space to relax.
  You will have access to the shared areas of our home, including the kitchen and living areas.
  We enjoy sharing meals and everyday moments, but there is absolutely no expectation that we need to spend all our time together.
  We think a good Workaway experience needs both connection and independence.
  You should feel at home here, while also having your own space and freedom.

  📍 Our location
  We live in Aarau, Switzerland, a charming Swiss town with a beautiful old town, cafés, shops, restaurants and plenty of green spaces.
  Aarau is also a great base for exploring Switzerland, with good public transport connections to other cities and places.
  When you are not helping us, you will have plenty of opportunities to explore on your own, go hiking, visit other Swiss cities, meet people or simply enjoy some quiet time.
