#For spontaneous visits: please give me a call (Number on the website) instead of writing!#

    Hi everyone,

newest Update: we've got our milksheep :) So lambing season April-June and milking/simple cheese making from July ongoing!

over the last five years we've created a one-hectare wild forest garden based on permaculture principles. It's for learning, teaching, self-sufficiency, giving away, and making the world a little more beautiful :) Besides me (Torben, 34) and my parents (Angela & Michael), there's always a diverse group of people of all ages working on it. The forest garden* is always home to dairy sheep, a dozen chickens, geese, rabbits, bees, our cat Findus, and countless wild animals and plants. We also occasionally host school classes, adult education course participants, guided tours, and overnight guests, but most of the time it's a relaxed atmosphere: helping with our hands, then enjoying the peace and quiet, unwinding, and finding some peace. We do almost everything by hand and close nutrient cycles. There are no fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural machinery, drinking water for irrigation, sealing of the ground, industrial feed, etc. We do NOT sell our harvest. This isn't about making money. We consume ourselves or give things away, exchange, help out... Together we can:
    - Tend to fruit trees & berry bushes
    - Care for animals
    - Make hay
    - Chop firewood
    - Learn & teach permaculture
    - Grow vegetables
    - Gather & dry wild herbs
    - Harvest & preserve
    - Make a fire with a flint, cook on wood, swim in the pond and river...
You can also help with friends: raising cattle naturally, maintaining nature reserves with calcareous grasslands, pollarding willows...

You will not help with any commercial activity - especially no room maintenance for paying guests or similar.
I was travelling a lot by bicycle in Europe and Africa, enjoyed the cultural exchange very much and now try to bring these exchange to our homestead by inviting you to join our life here.

You'll have your own room in our helper apartment, Wi-Fi, one of our bikes is usually available to borrow, and anything else you might need is also available :) We don't follow a rigid menu, but we try to be as seasonal, regional, unprocessed, and organic as possible. It's up to you: with or without meat/animal products - If you're vegan, please let us know in advance :)

For both work and cooking: Depending on the season, we do some things together, but a lot is done independently/on your own. The nearest town is 5km away (hourly bus service or a short bike ride), nature reserves, hiking trails, a historic old town... Plenty to do :)

If you'd like to live with us for a few days, weeks, or months: please get in touch! Even very spontaneous stays are usually no problem. And if you're looking for a place to live longer: there's still room here, and more faces would be a great addition! We look forward to your company and help!

    * A forest garden attempts to mimic a forest edge and thus create a self-sustaining ecosystem. Trees, shrubs, and perennial plants are selected that provide habitat for nature while simultaneously being beneficial to people. The plants are scattered and diverse, just like in a natural forest edge. This apparent chaos is, however, intentional. The plants provide each other with nutrients, water, information, and shade. The multitude of different species provides a habitat and feeding ground for various native animals. In addition, a great many familiar and unusual fruits, leaves, woods, mushrooms, etc. can be harvested.

    - Tiere versorgen
    - Heu machen
    - Brennholz machen
    - Permakultur lernen & lehren
    - Gemüse anbauen
    - Wilde Kräuter sammeln & trocknen
    - Ernten & haltbar machen
    - bauen, werkeln, reparieren, selber machen
