  Hi! We're Alec and Marley, and we're a family of five living just a couple of minutes from the beautiful sand dunes of Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Edward County, Ontario.
  We've been hosting Workawayers for many years and have welcomed some wonderful people from all over the world into our home. We love the cultural exchange that comes from sharing everyday life with someone from another country — cooking together, sharing stories, learning from each other and giving someone the opportunity to experience Canada as a local rather than simply as a tourist.
  
  We recently moved from our farm, where we hosted Workawayers for several years, to our new home near West Lake. It's a very different lifestyle, but we're excited to continue hosting and sharing our home with people who are interested in becoming part of family life for a while.

  Marley has a background in permaculture and and organic farming; food sovereignty and community building. Alec had a career as a professional musician and event planner. They both work as real estate developers and investors now and their passion is in having large scale impact on the planet, on consciousness and on the economy. They have many instruments and love to share music and art and are enthusiastic about meeting people from other areas of the world.

  We're a busy, creative and somewhat unconventional family with three children.
  
  Family life is at the centre of our home. We're interested in giving our kids a rich, hands-on education and we partly homeschool, so learning happens both at home and out in the world.
  
  We particularly love welcoming people who have something they'd enjoy sharing with our kids. Maybe you speak another language, play an instrument, love science, history, art, mathematics, cooking, nature or another subject. You don't need to be a professional teacher … curiosity, patience and enthusiasm are much more important to us.
  
  We love the idea that our children can learn about other countries and cultures directly from the people who live there.
  
  We're looking for someone who would enjoy being part of our family rhythm and helping with the ordinary things that keep a household with three children running.
  This might include:
  -helping with general household chores
  -cooking or helping prepare meals
  -tidying and keeping shared spaces organized
  -helping with the kids
  -playing with the children and getting involved in their activities
  -helping with simple outdoor or household projects
  -participating in homeschooling and sharing a skill, language or subject if that's something you're interested in
  
  We're not looking for someone to spend their whole day working. We want the arrangement to feel like a genuine cultural exchange, with a reasonable amount of help and plenty of free time for you to enjoy the area.
  
  We're especially interested in people who are independent, kind, responsible and genuinely enjoy children and family life.
  
  ABOUT THE AREA:
  
  One of the best things about living here is that there is so much to do when you're not helping around the house.
  We have a small row boat and West Lake is a wonderful place to get out on the water. Fishing is popular here, and in the warmer months there are endless opportunities for swimming, boating and exploring.
  We're just a couple of minutes from the sand dunes at Sandbanks Provincial Park, with beautiful beaches, hiking and some of the most spectacular scenery in the area.
  Prince Edward County is also full of little towns, vineyards, breweries, local farms, markets, restaurants, bakeries, beaches, trails and other places to explore. There is plenty to do independently, so we want our Workawayers to have the freedom to get out and experience the area rather than feeling like they need to stay home with us all the time.
  
  We're happy to help you figure out what to see and do while you're here!
  
  For us, the best part of hosting has always been the people.
  We've had Workawayers become friends, share meals with us, teach us things we never would have learned otherwise and become part of our family story.
  We'd love to continue that tradition in our new home.

  Acomodação

  You'll have your own private guest bedroom in our home.
  You'll share the rest of the house with us and our children, so this is very much a family-home experience rather than a separate guesthouse or apartment.
  There is also a bathroom that is primarily available for your use, although our family may occasionally use it as well.
  There’s also 10 acres of land and a beach on our property if you need space and peace
  We want our Workawayers to feel comfortable and at home while also understanding that they're joining a real family household.

  Our home is 3 minutes from Sandbanks provincial park, 13 minutes from Picton, Bloomfield and Cherry Valley. Bellville is 35 minutes away and there is a via rail train stop in Bellville - we could pick you up there if you take a train or bus to Bellville. Prince Edward County is a premier tourist destination (especially in the summer) and has great cycling, hikes, fishing, vineyards, farms, breweries and gorgeous world class beaches. Canada is an incredible country and we would love to help you explore it!

  We have fibre optic internet through Cogeco. We work from home and need to be well connected as well.

  Big drive way with many flat places to park near the house. You could also park near the barn as we have power there and it’s near the lake
