We loved having Ivo And Zuzanna. What a wonderful couple. They turned up and joined in our family life beautifully. Helping us around the home and joining in with everyday farm life. It was an absolute pleasure working alongside them both. Ivo and Zuzanna are both fast learners with a whole lot of common sense that made working with them a great
… read more experience. Our son thought they were wonderful and Zuzanna was full of hidden talents from building Lego cities to teaching newborn calves to drink for the first time. Ivo was also keen to have a go at everything and is great with kids and animals. Together they whipped us up a delicious Goulash and gave us some language lessons in Czech. We thoroughly enjoyed this workaway experience with the only problem being it was too short. We would recommend these two for either Workaway experience or paid work. If you ever find yourselves in our part of the world we would be happy to have you drop in and visit again.

Our time at the dairy farm with Vicky, Julian, and Lochlan was truly exceptional. … read more testament to their dedication and passion for what they do. And who would have thought that Vicky would teach me the art of coaxing newborn calves to drink milk? It's a skill I never imagined I'd possess, but thanks to Vicky, I've added it to my repertoire!
Despite our short stay, they created a welcoming environment, making us feel like part of the family from the very beginning.
Should our travels bring us back to the area in the future, we won’t hesitate for a moment to return to the farm. Our time spent with Vicky, Julian, and Lochlan was undoubtedly one of the best Workaway experiences, and for that, we are super grateful. Our hosts, Vicki and Julian, were absolutely wonderful during our stay. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like part of their family. The food Vicki prepared was exceptional, and Vicki's homemade cheese especially was a true delight.
We also had the chance to learn new things, like raising calves, thanks to their patient guidance.
… read more Working in the garden with them was a rewarding and educational experience. Plus, we appreciated the balance they struck between spending time together and giving us our own space if we wanted it. We had a great time playing board games and sharing funny stories.

We loved having Harri and Alex stay with us. They are absolutely lovely guys who are incredibly hardworking and fabulous company. Harri and Alex love new experiences and are keen to get stuck in and work either alongside you or just keep working away getting through a list of jobs independently. … read more time trying to beat them at a range of board games, and shared many laughs and discussions. It was a privilege hosting them both and we wish them all the best in their adventures. Oh and they love bird watching - I have a new appreciation of the birds in my local environment. All the best guys and I do hope we cross paths again. Where do I begin... I came to Kaitaia with the intention of staying for two weeks and left almost three months later. What a whirlwind it was! When I arrived, Vicki clearly communicated to me what she expected of visitors (garden help, tidying inside/outside the house, organizing cabinets, etc.) and how I would fit in with their family/lifestyle.
… read more As time passed my duties came to include more farm-centered tasks, which I so thoroughly enjoyed.
Vicki and Julian are a dynamic, clever, hard-working pair and were not only a pleasure to work with, but a pleasure to live with. They care deeply about their land, animals, and family. Their son Lochlan is a vibrant, excited little boy who loves a good bedtime story or a play in the backyard. Scarlet, Turbo, and Bumblebee, the family pets, are always close by for a cuddle, and the sunset views from the front drive are unmatched. Friends are often in and out or over for dinner on Friday - the rotating cast of characters on the farm means you will always have someone interesting to chat to. What a pleasure it was to be part of your family - I can't wait for my next visit.

Sarah is intelligent, funny, and wonderful company. She works hard, is very organised, and an excellent baker. We love having Sarah stay with us. She has joined in the family activities, helped out on the farm, worked with us, and also independently. We have offered her an open-ended stay as she is such great company to have around. I stayed with Vicki, Julien and Lochlan as my first workaway experience for 5 weeks. They are the perfect example of Kiwi hospitality and kindness. I always felt included and welcome and Lochlan did his best to teach me how to build Mario Lego characters;) During my stay I learned many new things about dairy farms in New Zealand and how to milk
… read more the cows! Vicki also arranged a trip to the Cape for me which was really cool! And of course their two lovely dogs and the cat bumblebee kept me entertained during my stay as well.
The work around the house was easy and they would answer any questions I had. I also felt like the work I did was very much appreciated which is always super nice to know!
Meals were often shared and sometimes accompanied by family and friends and I enjoyed all our late night talks very much!
To sum it up, this family truly made me feel at

I spent 2 weeks with Vicky Julian and Lochlan and it was just amazing! For the job : few hours of cleaning and gardening, sometimes spend time with the kid Lochlan. That was fun. Actually I didn't feel like I was working :)
