Thanks for looking at this add. We are new host and excited to meet travelers.
We are in need of childcare for 3 weeks for our toddler. Our daycare closes for renovations. More precisely we are looking from July 3 till the 22.
We are a family of 4 with our 4 and a half year old son and an almost 3 years old daughter. We live 35 minutes from Whitehorse and there is no public transport to commute to town, we are surrounded by wilderness. We developed our home ourself in the last 10 years; open a road to access the lot, build the house and clearing a part of our 13,5 acres property. We are the kind of people who like to do things ourself; so every year we grow a garden, maintain northern bush berries, go fishing and hunting. Every other year we grow our own chickens.
This became our lifestyle and it's a project of a life time as there is always something to do or a project on the go. If you seek a simple life in a beautiful landscape we would like to hear from you.

We are French Canadians so we speak French at home. We are also bilingual so you can come and practice your French here if you would like and expose our son to your own language. We are also outdoor lovers so we can assist you with your next trip planing. Here you can borrow our mountain bike to explore the beautiful area. It would be a great fit if you like wilderness, solitude and appreciate nature. We go camping and fishing when we can and you would be welcome to come along. Depending of the time you are here you can learn from caring for chicks all the way to butcher time, gardening skills, cooking and canning the food we grow, harvest and creating products from medicinal plants etc. As we are still improving/building our place as we go, there is possible opportunity to do some carpentry and landscaping work.

As much as you would be part of the family you would spend the week days with our easy toddler while we are at work. It would also be helpful to have some help with meal prep and we are interested in any skills you might have to contribute.

. You will have access to the bathroom on the first-floor of the home with shower and laundry. Internet is also included.

It’s basically a nanny (babysitting and cooking a fee dinners would be great) job for 3 weeks. The rest of the time is yours to relax and explore the area. Please do not hesitate to come forward with your questions. We are a young dynamic family who inspire to homestead style life, lovers of do-it-yourself projects and appreciate good food.
