Descrição
Welcome to our Arts and Cultural Center, B&B, and Botanical Conservation Park in Kasese, Western Uganda—a hub for intercultural dialogues and exchanges.
Our Mission:
We foster creativity, cultural exchange, and community support. During your stay, you'll become part of our diverse projects:
Arts & Cultural Center: Dive into the world of local artists and young creatives. Help organize fundraising campaigns to empower youth in tailoring, painting, and weaving. Market our gallery's art online to support local artists. Contribute to our education scholarships program, which has enabled 100 kids annually to access education for the past 5 years.
Elephant Human Coexistence BeeHive Fences: Located near Queen Elizabeth National Park, we're dedicated to coexisting with wildlife. Join us in fundraising for and installing BeeHive Fences, which provide alternative income sources for farmers through honey production, enhance crop pollination, and protect farms from elephant damage, reducing human-elephant conflicts.
Additional Experiences:
Nature Walks and Trips: Lead guests on captivating nature walks and trips in the company of community members. Explore the wonders of our surroundings, including Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Botanical Gardens and Landscaping: Contribute to the development and maintenance of our botanical gardens and lush landscaping, connecting with the beauty of nature.
Your Impact:
By participating in our projects, you'll support local artists, empower youth, mitigate human-wildlife conflicts, and contribute to the growth of our cultural center, B&B, and conservation efforts. Immerse yourself in arts, culture, and nature, leaving a lasting impact on our vibrant community.
Experience the way of life in Western Uganda while making a difference. Join us for an enriching and purposeful journey!
As noted, free accommodation is a part of the exchange. But given we need to continue to renovate the site, get gas for meals preparations, and other meals expenses, a daily contribution of $5 is requested of workways. To continue to ensure that the hosting is self-sustainable and utilities like Wi-Fi, and first aid can be offered onsite for all workways as needed. The team does its best to make your stay worth it, and this small contribution ensures you get all the needed resources during your stay as hosting can be a bit costly as you would testify. And as we have noted from hosting for over 5 years.Tipos de ajuda e oportunidades de aprendizado

You can spend you're weekends trekking the Rwenzori Mountains (highest in Uganda), swimming in the hotsprings, Game Driving in the Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot lions and other game, Boat cruising on Kazinga channel -a home to Crocodiles, hippos and plenty of fish while still spoting game like elephants, tracking Monkeys, Chimps and gorillas on top of visiting local markets and also attending local events.
The cheapest and commonest means of transport is the Motor Bike, which you can always use to get to town or visit a few places around town like the Market.
English is understood by most locals, and most children are slowly learning it at school. The commonly used local languages are Lukonzo, Luganda and Lutoro. We will teach you basics of these so you can say hello to locals in their language.
