We are a Botanical Garden, school & art project in Majengo town in district Kasese, Uganda, East Africa. The vision is to provide education for every child in and around Kasese. We want to empower children to develop their own ideas and to be strengthened in their creativity. Therefore the main focus is to integrate art in the daily time table of the school and to cooperate with local artists in order to support children to develop future perspectives.
There are currently around 100 children of ages 3-15 years visiting the school. Many parents of those children can not afford school fees. Our goal is to offer them free education. In 2019 we started a cooperation with World´s Education, an organization supporting education projects around the world to further develop 4 projects that you will be engaged in onsite, to benefit the community & the students we offer hands on education programs to.
We invite you to join us and teach alongside the local staff to positively impact the lives of these youngsters. Actively participate in creating Artpieces in the Art Gallery, Support Our Clean Water Project for the community, and plant a tree or more in out Botanical Garden & Organic Farm. Plus, why not have another place in the world you can call home? You require no previous experience to become a part of our team. Just a heart to share the little skills you might have that align with our mission and Vision. And a curious mindset that's willing to learn new skills so you can be able bro actively engage in our community oriented projects.
To ensure that every volunteer onsite works in a project where they feel they would learn and or share more based on their previous experiences, we have 4 Active projects running onsite that you are free to choose from.
1. (A) Digital Skills & Arts Education for kids and teens.
(B) Active engagement in the Art Gallery (Creating Artpieces & Organizing Art Exhibitions & Events together with Local Artists).
2. The Conservation Project. (Actively Participating in the development of the Botanical Gardens, Organic Farm and Ecotourism project. Expect to work with Bees, participate in planting over 100 plant species onsite, and gardening work.)
3. The Clean Water & Clean Energy Project. (We currently offer clean water access to the local community onsite but wish to come up with a solution to offer them clean water & Energy access in their homes.)
4. Youth & Community Entrepreneurship Fund (Financing Local Businesses). Most businesses have no access to the Banking Sector. We run this project to give them instant loans whenever they need them for Business Development, as a tool for empowering the local community through trade & financial inclusion.

We have different types of work. Besides teaching the children we are always looking for people who like to share or develop new teaching methods with our teachers . You are also very welcome if you are interested in arts and would like to help us organize art exhibitions, cultural events and to network with local artists. Ecological farming is also becoming a big part of our project since we want to provide meals with our own grown food. As we need to expand our school buildings there is always opportunity to help with construction sides or to create furniture.
