  We are a family who moved to an 1.5 hectare old vegetable farm in Laugarás in Biskupstungur, and have transformed it into a retreat centre and ceremonial space.
  
  There are all kinds ot of things that need to be done and we are looking for people who have passion for cooking and know how to put together delicious meals, people who like to clean and organise, build things and have some knowledge of carpentry, painting, gardening plumbing or just about anything resourceful for this kind of project, like a can do attitude, common sense, solution thinking and a sense of humour :) Social skills are quite important.
  
  The buildings and greenhouses need all kind of care and maintenance along with some general tasks around the garden and the estate. This summer we plan to finish a natural pool we started last summer.
  
  Then we have 2 other buildings... a 90 sqm glass greenhouse that is used as a yoga hall and ceremonial space.
  Then there´s Skemma a 280 sqm former greenhouse wich is covered up with aluminum on the side and half translucent plastic roof that is painted so it gives a good shade, there we have a carpentry and artist workshop along a sort of a common space with coffee and couches. There we will need help with organising and all kinds of different odd jobs that come along the way.

  Learn how to set up manage a large workshop, practical thinking and resourceful creativity. We will learnr from each other and about each others culture thru our daily routines. We can offer an insight into the life of an icelandic artist family. Our guests can use our facilitys to work on their art and let their creativity flow

  Ajuda

  Right now we are looking for someone to help with cleaning the guesthouse, we pay an hourly rate for that to our helpers.. attention to detail is important and we prefer the have persons who dont mind cleaning for that job.
  there are many other projects though such as maintenance of all kinds, painting, decorating, cleaning, gardening, organizing and whatever comes up, so it would definitely help to have an open and resourceful mode of thinking.
  People with carpentry skills or any other type of handyman skills especially welcomed ☺️
  We can offer minimum wage for helpers who come from EU and can legally work in Iceland.

  We offer cozy camper vans for our volunteers, they are heated and have nice beds!
  and also we have a nice and chilled common area in the Skemma.
  We offer vegetarian food here and stock the kitchen with all the basic stuff needed to cook meals.

  Laugarás is the epicenter of the golden circle with to many nature sights close by to mention. There is a bus that runs from the laugarás twice a day that goes to Selfoss where you can take the bus all around Iceland and maybe specially around all the south in a matter of hours.
  And both of us go to Selfoss very often and Reykjavik at least once a week.

  We would figure that out together. We don´t have fibre net at the moment but i think they are just finishing putting in the houses. But we just use a 4g router from Nova and that has worked fine.
