Andressa is a motivated, organised and conscientious woman. She was highly diligent and full of good humour and caring of my mum.
She made sure Lois had everything she needed and enjoyed joining in with family activities, however she was also very good at being independent and meeting up with friends to join her dancing, at church and local

She was bold enough to try new food, despite being very particular about what she liked to eat and was very excited to prepare us her favourite dishes.
Andressa managed to easily fulfil her obligations to Lois and to maintain her own business online and engaged cheerfully and with a sense of fun for the length of her stay.
If you like walking and contemplating the beach, this position is for you! 🌊💖
Lois is a very active lady and one of her favorite things to do is go to the beach, contemplate the sea, the birds and the dogs around her. She even wants to go to the beach on rainy days 🌧️🤣 (I don't recommend it when it rains😅).
I lived with Lois for 2 months and 2
… read more weeks and had my own room (which I really appreciated for having my privacy).
The schedule is very flexible. But I preferred to make my own schedule to also reconcile it with my remote work. You can do the same, the important thing is to always let Lois and her daughter Ruth (who lives upstairs with her husband Graham) know. But also be open to adaptations because Lois has a very busy social life hahah.
Lois is a generous person who will appreciate your company, but she won't want you to spend all your time with her. Because she likes to have her own time and you can have yours - which is great. In a conversation circle, she will always want to include you too and I thought that was so sweet of her. 🥰
She makes her own food and other things, but if you can help her by accompanying her, that would be great. And even if she doesn't ask, it would also be great if you could prepare something for her, after all, doing good feels good 😊
Next workaway, please take good care of Lois for us! 💖 You will have a lot of fun together, I have no doubt. And lots of laughs! ahhaah
Now I have to confess to you that the first few weeks were really hard for me, not because of them, but because of the various emotions and situations that were happening to me - this was my first workaway, I had to deal with being away from my family, the time difference, adapting to my online work and the weather (if you don't like the cold, like me, I recommend you go between December and February. I arrived in the spring, so I still got a cold at the beginning. At the beginning of December it was better, the days were warmer and there wasn't much rain, but the water at the beach was still freezing!! Believe me hahah).
Ruth and Graham were great with me during this time, understanding and trying to help me and make me feel more at home.
Ruth is a very organized person and communication with her has always been very smooth. These are some of her strengths and they will be really cool if you like to plan ahead too. She works with what she really likes and I was really happy to be able to watch how everything works when they filmed at Lois' house. We also went to a presentation by her choir group where she and her brother Adam performed. It was great and they absolutely rocked!!
Graham is a very kind-hearted person and an excellent gardener. He always put new flowers in the house to brighten our days. In addition, he is a natural patriot and loves his country very much! He also loves to cook - he tried to make me try different foods 🤣, and although I have a more restricted palate, they respected that and I really appreciated it. He also taught me how to drive (the driving and lanes are the other way around in my home country - there the driver sits in the right-hand seat). And that was great because I was able to go for walks with Lois to other beaches.
Adam, Ruth's only son, usually went to dinner with Lois on Wednesdays, you don't have to go with them, but I recommend it whenever you can. We had great conversations and he helped me with my English and I was able to help him with Portuguese too. It was great!
Catriona, Adam's wife, is also a sweetheart and I enjoyed talking to her. I must admit that her and Adam's English were easier for me to understand at first. And if you're going to join the family games, be it on her team or Ruth's! They are excellent players haha.
I only met Melissa, the traveling daughter, the last week I was there when we celebrated Lois' 90th birthday! It was a very happy moment, when all of Lois' children and some of her siblings got together. I was very happy to experience this moment with them. I enjoyed talking to Melissa and she kindly explained some family games to me and we even paired up to play together. It was great!!
Rachel and Anna I didn't have that many moments of conversation, but I was happy that we were able to interact more on Lois' birthday weekend.
Anyway, I highly recommend this workaway to you.💖
And I can't forget to mention Lieze, Lois' first workaway, but she came back for the second time and I got to meet her at this time.
I have no doubt that it was God who made this meeting possible. Lieze is a physical therapist and she helped me a lot with how to hold Lois in the best way, with her tips on how to drive better and store Lois' wheelchair, how to help Lois get into the car, and she also showed me some places that Lois liked to go. Without a doubt, she was amazing!
We also had good and deep conversations about our professional and personal lives. And I really wish her all the best, I didn't want her to leave haha.
And if you are a host and are reading this message, I highly recommend that you invite Lieze to be your workaway partner. She has a very kind heart.
Thank you guys for the experience. I loved my first workaway in New Zealand. 🇳🇿
I hope to meet you again one day in New Zealand, Brazil or somewhere else in the world. 🌍
Kisses, take care and God bless you! 🙏🏾🥰
Gratitude. ✨

These are very special people living in a very lovely part of the world. The warmth, good times, and hospitality I was gifted from Lois, Ruth, Graham and the rest of the fam was so beautiful and I couldn't recommend spending time here enough. Jade was a fantastic addition to our family for the 3 weeks that she lived with my mother. She was considerate, fun, took great initiative and was friendly and a great communicator. We really enjoyed her company, her ability to express herself so well and her willingness to engage in any shared activity or assigned task. We highly recommend her. :-) Ruth, Graham and Lois.Comentário

I spent 2.5 months with Lois and her great family and felt comfortable and in good hands from the first second. I am grateful to have found a second family on the other side of the world and will really miss the great conversations, game nights, four star cuisine and walks. Ruth and Graham truly live the concept of hospitality and open door

I would like to thank the whole family for the great time in Auckland and can only recommend this workaway experience.Feito pelo anfitrião para o Workawayer (MaikeCich)
Maike become a wonderful member of our extended family.
She was thoughtful, caring, diligent and communicative.
She worked hard to make sure our mother felt cared for and complied with all our requests with a generous and kind spirit. Maike has a peaceful and thoughtful energy, she likes to keep active and we enjoyed having her join us for family

Julie, under a shy exterior, is fun, funny, honest and very caring. She lived with my mother for a month and was a splendid companion. She took the initiative to help mum try activities that my mother had found daunting prior to that. She was encouraging and sensitive and attentive and my mother flourished in her company.

We look forward to seeing Julie again before she leaves NZ.

I had a wonderful time staying with Lois and her family! Being here over the holidays and the beginning of the year seemed a bit daunting at first, but I felt very welcomed by her whole family!
