Our farm is situated in a small village in the small Hungarian Plain in the west of Hungary, close to Lake Neusiedl, right in the heart of the Fertő-Hanság National Park, a well-known birdwatching hotspot. Depending on the season, you can see Greylag geese, cranes, storks and swallows, as well as Eastern Imperial Eagles and four species of owls.
Animal welfare, nature and climate protection are very important to us:
When you stay with us, you can learn about natural horsemanship and experience life with a whole variety of animals. Our four horses (Friesian, Czech Warmblood, Percheron, Quarter Horse) and two ponies live in perfect harmony with five cats, two dogs, twelve quails, two turtles, two black pigs, many storks and swallows – and us :-)
Our two gardens are designed according to permaculture principles – crop rotation, mixed crops and, of course, organic seeds! We are adapting our fruit trees to the changing climate – try figs, persimmons, pomegranates and an almond tree. With great success so far!
We offer a wonderful area for long rides, a swimming pool in the summer and a steam bath in the winter. Our village is calm and quiet – no traffic noise, just birdsong.
Anyone looking for peace, quiet, animals and nature will find it here :-) -

As I am a single working mum with a teenage daughter your help would be very welcome - feeding the pets, gardening, cooking... In exchange, I can offer you practical experience in natural horsekeeping: How do you organise an open stable? What are the advantages of a paddock trail? How can you work well with hay nets? How do you keep old horses well? (I have an oldie aged 35) What role does ground work play in a horse's mental and physical well-being? How do horses live with dogs, cats and pigs?
Please note that having a valid driving licence is important for this position, as driving is part of the tasks and everyday life here. -

Acomodação
You have your own quiet room with a nice view to the garden and with your own bathroom with rainfall shower and steam bath. WLAN is of course available in your room. Kitchen and living room would be a shared space. The village is the smallest in Hungary with its own mayor :-) and it is very quiet. Anyone looking for peace and quiet has come to the right place.

Public transport is available. If you can drive a car, there would be also an option to borrow ours.
Hungary is famous for its many festivals during the year, and I am happy to recommend you some in the area! -

Dogs and cats are very welcome. We have a labrador dog and a Dachshund mongrel. They are used to accepting new dogs in their pack as we often dog sit in the holidays.
