Matt and Bea are a lovely young couple and were careful and thorough in all their tasks. So after an entire week of experiencing the slave lifestyle (her terminology) I can surely say that Karlum is easily the most pleasant slaveowner in history. She picked me and another workawayer up from Wellington where she works several days a week. Her house is about an hour away from the city and easily reachable by train or bus. It is

Both the rooms were extremely modern, spacious and spotlessly clean just like the rest of her home. On the walls you can find a selection of her photography work, which is one of her hobbies.
I particularly liked the very independent work style she offered us. After getting our instructions in the evening, it was pretty much up to us when to start the next day. The required tasks mostly consisted of weeding, gardening and a little bit of painting. Thankfully they only consumed around 2 hours per day so there was plenty of time to discover the absolutely gorgeous nature.
Karlum took us on short trips by bike or car almost every day and gave us perfect and entertaining tours of the region. She also offered us to use her electrical bikes whenever we please and gave excellent recommendations on the places we definitely have to see during our stay. Since Karlum works as a journalist, she has interesting stories on a variety of topics so you´ll surely never run out of things to talk about!
The food she prepared or left us to cook on our own was always delicious, fresh and high-quality.
As already mentioned the work you have to do is ridiculously little compared to what Karlum has to offer. Home, food and work were all excellent as in most of my workaway stays so far, but what really set this particular one apart is Karlum´s personality. I admire her for her sharp wit, her slightly abusive sarcasm and her vibrant personality. The perfect mix between generosity and offensiveness certainly made this my absolute favorite stay so far!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.
