  We are a family of three, a daughter 10 years old, and we both parents. We live in a green area, close by the Oslo city center. Our house has a nice garden and still it is only 10 min away with the metro from all major attractions.We worked and travelled in our youth abroad and we still value these opportunities and look back to those days. That is why we would like to offer this opportunity to the younger generation. And I have to say that we have had so far only positive experiences with our wonderful workawayers David and Simona. It has been a great experience.
  We are welcoming 3-lingual household, speaking fluently Norwegian, German and English (our daughter has good basic english knowledge but she is eager to improve). We are really open to different cultures and we are looking forward to learn more from workawayers staying with us about their own culture. At the same time we would love to share with our workawayers the Norwegian way of living and culture. We are socially well integrated in our neighborhood and we have a welcoming and open atmosphere at home gathering friends and neighbors regularly. Our international circle of friends here in Norway enriches our and probably also the live of the future workawayer.
  We are working long days, me as a physician and my wife as a social entrepreneur. However, gardening and handcrafting are my big hobbies and they keep me in good balance. My wife loves cultural activities and she is always up to date what is going on in Oslo ... be prepared to meet a well informed "visit and experience Oslo" guide.
  There are several smaller projects we would need help with but there will be enough time to interact with us and our daughter, exchanging language, cultural and culinary skills :-)

  I am convinced that a stay in our family will offer the workawayer a unique inside in Norwegian and European way of living. We would like to integrate our guest in our lovely family. Since we live in the heart of Oslo, it will be easy for the workawayer to get to know the city in a convenient way. Knowing Oslo by heart, we will be able to give the workawayer a from-the-inside-experience here in Oslo.

  Ajuda

  Main Project: We would need help with our house and garden. In spring there are many things to take care off e.g. cleaning the outside area after winter, preparing the garden for the new season and many more. We are looking forward to welcome a person who is interested in manual help outside. Practical experience would be nice to have but is not necessarily a prerequisite since we also would like to teach interested workawayers gardening and handcrafting. We would like to highlight that Norway has a Nordic climate and workawayers have to be prepared for colder/ chilly climate in March and April. Adequate clothing and taking pleasure in working outside under these conditions are prerequisites for enjoying this stay. We provide adequate protective equipment for these type of works.
  We would really appreciate if the workawayer could also contribute with culinary skills and prepare twice a week a family meal with background in their homeland. We are eager to learn also from the workawayer.

  Acomodação

  We provide a newly refurbished private room ( 20 sqm) in the third floor. Even though there are some roof pitched areas, the room is spacious and bright with three windows ( roof-lights) providing a nice view over Oslo. The room is fully furnished with a bed, chair, little table. The room is connected to our balanced ventilation system of the house, suppling the room with fresh air. The workawayer will dispose an own bathroom which is located in the first floor with shower, toilet and sink.

  Our home is perfectly connected to the public transport of Oslo, including 2 Metros, 4 bus lines and the tram. It is easy to travel any place in the city within 10-20 min. We are convinced that a stay at our home will make it easy for our guest to get to know the vibrant city OSLO. The workawayer is welcome to enjoy and relax in our garden and we provide garden furniture. Since we are working/ are at school from 8 - 16:30, the workawayer will be able to get space to retreat if wanted...

  We have a super fast fibre internet connection guaranteeing a convenient connection for all family members. The Wifi connection is reinforced on every floor, making it easy to work or stream from all rooms in the house.
