Heyho! We started with workaway long while ago.... and the stopped for years..... space, familiy and all that stuff... now we miss that time.... so feel free to message :).
First the classic Things :) I live with my Family (me=Barbara, Wolfgang =husband, Kids: Nina (18, Alex 16)) on really nice farm. We are open minded and really family people.
At "work" we act in different Areas...
Dairy farm:
There is on the one side the dairy farm (small one .. with about 50 cows + calves & automatic milking) - so if you dont mind feeding cows & calves, and learn or broaden your experience with cows - just perfect ;)!!
Agriculture Service:
on the other side my husband offers agriculture Services (tractors, harvester for grass and corn, sowing machine, plough....) ... so if you love to drive with anything that makes noise and is loud and has a lots of power - you are the right one!!
MOUNTED GAMES/Horses
on the other side ... we have 5 Ponies at the Moment. My daughter is doing Mounted Games. So would be a PLUS if you do MG or PonyClub. Here in Austria there is not a big Scene for that - but we are also going to competitions to Germany and Switzerland. For sure you can also go with us. It would be no Problem if you take your own horse with you!
There are several Trainers here also for jumping and dressage. If you also love Riding/MG and enjoy farm work - PLEASE Contact ;) We are waiting......
So a combination of at least two Things would be perfect - but you can try evrything and look what fits you best :)
Oh ... about our village - we live in the middle of nowhere (at least it seems so) - the next big City is Linz (20 min with the car) - oh yeah car - you can use one of our cars when you need. So it is not that bad ;)

Cultural, upper Austria is one of the best Areas in Austria. The People are friendly and helpful, we have some really old and Magic places around (not like stonehenge - but in some small way very unique). For sure you can do a lot of outdoor Things. You will see - its not boring here.

Ah as a farmer you are self employed an you work some days more and some days even more ;) and some days hopefully nothing ;)
And always think - work should be fun. We have a lot of work here at our place but never Forget to laugh ;) -

Barbara and Wolfgang were so friendly and welcoming! I could only stay one week with them but it was too short and went by too fast! I learned loads about cows and mounted games and got to go with them to a mounted games clinic with the Austrian coach.
I will definitely go back again, this time for longer!

Emese is a friendly and polite person, easy to handle. She helped out everywhere... feeding the baby cows, playing with the kids, taking pictures of our horse training.. all in all we had a great time together.
