    Welcome!

Our family farm has been handed down by over six generations — 300+ years! — and is certified organic since 1993.
It is cultivated on a 50-acre property, 70% of which is made up of a lush natural forest that we maintain without interference.

The main crops we harvest are cacao, areca nut, nutmeg, rice, coconut and pepper — as well as a variety of delicious exotic fruits and vegetables. Water harvesting projects help irrigate our farmland and conserve water. In the research centre created by my grandfather, we identify and grow microorganisms that support our organic farming practices and conduct plant research.

Grafting, composting, manuring, rainwater harvesting, and crop rotation are some of the tasks we can always use additional hands for.

Along with farming, we are passionate about all things WATER. We have built multiple ponds and pools on our property, primarily for rainwater harvesting but they offer fun water activities like standup paddleboarding, diving, waterlining and zip lining.

We are also into Swim Training, Surfing, Surf Life Saving, and Adventure Sports. Drowning is endemic to India, causing the death of nearly 100,000 people each year — only Aquatic Education can change this! Each year we do our part by running swimming summer and winter camps, and training people on CPR.

Do you want to understand how to grow the food you eat? Are you itching to get out of the city and reconnect with nature? Does the geek inside you get excited about effective microorganisms and fermentation? Do you want to experience a thriving self-sustaining eco-friendly organic farm in action and help it flourish even more?

We try to imbibe ideas of regeneration, sustainability, self-reliance and environmental stability into the things we do. Do you believe in climate change? Do you want to know what changes you can make, as an individual, to help? Look no further.

Our mission is to spread the seed of organic farming and community living to anyone keen to learn and be hands-on — and have mad fun in the process. If this rings true, we are excited to hear from you!

Volunteers who decide to join us at the farm will be learning a lot about organic farming practices, eco-friendly farming methods & experience authentic Indian village life. There will be interactions between volunteers and the locals on a daily basis. They will be able to witness a huge part of Hindu culture and festivals.

You have the added opportunity of exploring your physical literacy, improving your swimming, and learning important lifesaving skills here, courtesy Coach Partha. We love meeting new people, exchanging cultures and ideas, and hanging out at the pond together.

An added benefit would also be that volunteers will get to eat scrumptious organic farm-fresh food everyday :)

Volunteers who are selected to work on our organic farm will learn an excellent combination of traditional permaculture and modern farming practices, understand the importance of eco-friendly and organic farming methods, rainwater harvesting and live as a part of a rural village community. Volunteers get to explore different aspects of the farming calendar through the year – harvesting, planting, manuring, weeding – you name it.

The work is usually six hours a day, five days a week and alternate Saturdays. The jobs you have are seasonal and include helping us in our office or manure facility, grafting, composting and potting. We also require help with marketing and sales of our organic produce. We do have the occasional fun project such as farmers' markets, maintenance of our irrigation tanks or treehouses, and we do take note of your interests and skills when assigning tasks!

    Your workday looks like this:

8AM: Breakfast at the main house

    9AM-4PM: Work at assigned workstation

10AM-11AM: Break for tea, snack (provided)

    1PM-2PM: Break for lunch (provided)

    2pm to 4pm: work
4pm to 7pm free time to explore Organic farm and village
    7PM: Dinner (provided)

Time before 9AM and after 4PM is yours to explore our farm, have fun, hang out with the farm community, or catch up on individual work.

As long as you are respectful of the culture, guidelines, wildlife and premises, we have an easy relationship with the volunteers here at the farm. You have the added opportunity of exploring your physical literacy, improving your swimming, and learning important lifesaving skills here, courtesy Coach Partha.
