  I'm Julie, I run a New Orleans originated non-profit working at Lake Atitlan specifically in Panajachel. It is our program that provides sterilization clinics here at the lake to cut down on the street dog population. While this is our priority, the reason for Workaway to be helpful for my program is that I also still operate back in the states and have to return from time to time to check in on my New Orleans facility and simply need a house sitter to care for my own Guatemalan adopted street dog and my garden and plants.
  
  This is a very easy job as there isn’t much to be done here but keep my home occupied, feed and walk my dog and water my plants. When I'm present, volunteers can help with sterilisation clinics and catch-and-release medical care for street dogs.
  
  I urgently need a petsitter for the period April 23rd - May 7th. I'd like to spend a couple of days getting to know you beforehand, so arriving on April 20th would be ideal. Please reach out if you can do these dates!!
  
  I could also use a hand preparing the volunteer space - it's livable at the moment but could use a lick of paint and some organisation! I need help with this ASAP - if you'd be able to help with this and then stay to housesit until May 7th, that'd be ideal :)

  As this is a house sitting job I will not be available to help with any cultural experiences, the lake offers amazing opportunities to experience the local culture. There's a large indigenous population here so it's an interesting place to experience modern Mayan life.

  Full kitchen with a full size fridge, stove top and convection oven. Full size bed and sectional sofa, tv with streaming apps, full shower with hot water and two amazing young dogs, Lucy and Roux.

  While I will be away and can not provide meals, I will fill the fridge with produce before leaving and there will be basic kitchen supplies - spices, flour, rice etc - that you're welcome to use.
