Nila and Sam stayed with us for just over a week recently. They are a wonderful and friendly couple who are very hard workers. If you are thinking about reaching out to John and Fiona about a workaway...DO IT! :) My fiance and I had just moved to New Zealand and had never tried a workaway before. Posting this very late as I was busy in Queenstown the last week!
Thank you so much John and Fi for the amazing 8 days I’ve had with you! Even though it was quite short, the both of you really put in a lot of effort to make my stay, experience, and learning as comfortable and fruitful as possible and I really really enjoyed myself. I hope the
… read more sheep are getting well-fed, and the weeds don’t grow back. For my first Workaway experience, I was a little nervous and afraid I wouldn’t be able to learn quick and be up to standard of what was required of me, but the both of you were patient with me and taught me. Also, having just 4 hours of work for 4 days a week with 3 days of rest was really great and allowed me a good period of rest.
The cabin is also furnished really well! The bed is very comfortable and you’ll feel like you’re in a little tiny home in the mountains and hills just by yourself, with nothing to disturb you in the middle of the night, and with the Tuis and other birds waking you up in the morning with their song. The outdoor shower should at least be tried once for all you future Workawayers :)
Oh, and the food cooked was amazing too! I’m glad I had the opportunity to join you both in preparing dinner almost everyday, and yeah the food was deliciously amazing and I was fed so much I was full after each meal (which is good)!
Lastly, I also really enjoyed the unexpected experiences such as having dinner with other kiwis and talking with them, visiting Cable Bay just to show me more of the surrounding area, teaching me about the native birds and flora, about bits of local history, and why you do what you do.
I hope prospective Workawayers see this and know that you’ll be in good hands under John and Fi!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

Fi and John were lovely workaway hosts. I stayed in a small cabin less than five minutes away of the main building with the most amazing view of the hills. In winter I would recommend bringing some fluffy socks and a hot water bottles as it can get a bit chilly at night - but then I am someone who freezes easily.

Johns food (especially the bircher muesli breakfast) was absolutely delicious and I felt very luck that I was allowed to stay with them.Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.
