Liebe Regine, liebe Dorothea,
dies war meine erste Workaway Erfahrung und ich habe es total genossen. Bereits im Vorfeld wurden all meine Fragen beantwortet und ich wurde liebevollerweise vom Flughafen abgeholt. Ich habe mich ziemlich schnell bei euch wohlgefühlt. Die Arbeit hat mir von Anfang an viel Spaß gemacht und die Pferde sind wundervoll.
… read more Regines Rasselbande, oder besser gesagt ihre "Mäuse" wirken zwar am Anfang noch wie ein großer wuseliger Haufen, doch von Tag zu Tag schließt man die Keiflinge ;) mehr in sein Herz. Ich durfte immer wieder bei Dorothea und ihrem Job als Tierärztin über die Schulter schauen und viele spannende Erfahrungen sammeln. Regine hat mir immer wieder typisch spanische Rezepte gezeigt und mich kulinarisch verwöhnt. Das Zimmer zeigt in Richtung Strand, sodass man beim Einschlafen dem Meeresrauschen lauschen kann.

I stayed there for a half year and it was the best decision. I learnt a lot about riding and handeling horses (and the cute little foals)😊
At first I need a bit to warm up and get along, but all the people are very nice and they really try to make you feel like a family member.
I had a really great time!

It's really hard to discribe such an influential experience. It was completely different from what I expected for my first workaway job - but believe me in a very positive way.

… read more perfect balance between work and freetime. After working some hours in the morning I loved the freetime at the beach, strolling around the lovely little town of Guardamar or having great talks during lunch/coffee break. Sadly, I only called this place home for one month. The time passed by so fast working with the amazing horses - each hold it's own challenges but especially because the horses aren't easy the work is even more interesting and fascinating. Mainly the work with the stallions gave my huge confidence handling horses.
So if you're up to an challenging, teaching and authentic workaway experience I couldn't recommend a better farm. Moreover I cannot stress enough how good they treat their horses and give a lot of horses a second chance!
Hopefully we'll see each other again someday!
PS: I still can't decide what I miss the most: the beautiful sunsets on the finca, the chilled rides through Guardamar's region, the big and little "Mäuse", your enriching company,...

Especially, the workmood at the finca was pleasent. Nobody is perfect, everybody commits errors but there was everytime somebody to help you to correct everything.
I really gained a lot of experience and memories during my stay and I would do it anytime again. Thank you for this amazing time!
Ich habe acht Monate bei Regine eine tolle Zeit erlebt. Mitten in dieser interessanten Familie habe ich eine Menge mitbekommen. Die Arbeit mit Dorothea auf der Finca hat mir viel Spaß gemacht und vor allem habe ich eine ganze Menge dazugelernt.
Die Pferden waren alle so unterschiedlich, einige noch ganz am Anfang ihrer Ausbildung. Sie haben mich das eine oder andere Mal vor eine Herausforderung gestellt, aber so konnte ich eine ganze Menge Erfahrungen sammeln, die mir niemand mehr nehmen kann.
Besonders das Miteinander auf der Finca hat mir gut gefallen. Keiner ist perfekt, jeder macht mal einen Fehler. Dann versucht man ihn gemeinsam wieder auszubügeln und es beim nächsten Mal besser zu machen.

I have spent four and a half months at Regines farm this spring and it was an amazing experience, I was a bit nervous at first but after a few weeks I felt really at home. The wonderful horses challenged my riding skills and improved my riding a lot. Living in beautiful Guardamar was fun, but a bit lonely sometimes as I didn´t get to know anyone
… read more other than the host family. I loved getting to know all the dogs, horses, chicken and cats and will miss them as well as Regine, Dorothea and Maria. I wish I had worked a bit more on my Spanish while I was there, but even without much language training I believe I improved a little bit, thank you for your patience with my limited Spanish when I wanted to practice.

I've been at Regines farm about 6 months and I can say it was a great experience. If I had the possibility I would surely go there again. All the people are nice and helpful. … read more veterinarians work, I had the possibility to join Dorothea, Regines daughter. She is a veterinarian and had me taken often with her, because I asked about it and enjoyed it a lot. Thank you again, Dorothea! :-)
If you're looking for a place where you can ride a lot and having nice people around you, this is the place to go!
Ich war 6 Monate bei Regine auf dem Gestüt und rückblickend kann ich sagen, dass es eine super Erfahrung war. Wenn ich die Möglichkeit hätte würde ich sofort wieder dort hin gehen. Alle Leute dort sind freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch über die Pferde kann ich nur positives berichten. Manche der Pferde sind noch sehr jung, daher sollte man schon etwas Erfahrung mit Pferden haben. Trotzdem sind alle Pferde gut erzogen, freundlich und rittig. Da ich mich sehr für Tiermedizin interessiere hatte ich die Möglichkeit ab und zu Dorothea, Regines Tochter, bei ihrer Arbeit als Tierärztin zu begleiten. Danke nochmal Dorothea, es war wirklich interessant und lehrreich! :-)

I spent 6 months at Regine's Stud Farm and I can honestly say it has been one of the best experiences I have had! It was an absolute privalage to be a part of the training of they're young homebred Andalucian and Arabian horse's and it really pushed my riding and confidence handling horses on!
