CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR HELP STARTING FEBRUARY. We are searching for guests to help in the garden, with farm renovations and child care. We prefer people to stay for a month and up, exceptions possible.
Hi! We are Nadine (32), Philipp (30), Maja (4) and Lilo (2), a small but growing family living in a small village within the swabian alps (Schwäbische Alb), called Inneringen. We are located about halfway from Lake Constance and the City of Stuttgart, in the south-west part of germany. Other notable places around are the cities of Sigmaringen, Ulm and Tübingen; the black forest (Schwarzwald) starts an hour west, the federal state of bavaria (Bayern) is an hour east. Our village has about a thousand people, who at this point usually ask non-german speakers whether they stay with us :)
We are running our farm as a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), the . You can find many informations about the project online, as we have a website- ask us for the link, use Instagram a lot and write a weekly newsletter (which appears on the website, too). The project is still quite young as we only started in 2023 - but we have already made good progress in our first two years. The CSA is a club, legally speaking, and as such a Non-Profit-Organisation. Our goal is not to necessarily make a living with it, but instead we want to get this project to a point where it carries itself - supported by the members of our club, which are an active part of the organisation. We view workaway and similar volunteer programs not as a substitute for labor, but as an additional aspect of our CSA, that makes for a whole new and different experience for our members and for us as a host family. Without it vegetable farming would be much, much more boring...
2025 will be our third year of farming and supplying fresh produce (mostly vegetables) to our club members. We offer them a weekly box of locally grown organic food, and aim to realize the most sustainable and environmentally friendly way of farming possible. Our community garden - as we like to see it - is located in the middle of our village, which is quite unique.
The club members are always involved with the project as well, and help in the garden too. Philipp is the head of the CSA and is organizing all daily tasks; he is always around, and will explain and show you everything. Nadine is working from her home office, but still a key part of the CSA in her time off; the girls are in daycare in the morning, but around and busy in the afternoon.
Also, we are still in the process of renovating our farm, improving the place for both our family and our guests. Luckily, we have a well stocked carpentry at our disposal, and we are in the finishing stages of that part of our project.
Apart from that: there are quite a few natural reserves around us which offer many opportunities for climbing, bicycle tours, hiking and canoeing - the one we always recommend most is the Danube Valley (Donautal - Naturpark Obere Donau). There are beatiful old towns and villages nearby which you can reach by public transport or (e)bike, and there is little tourism in our immediate area. You will experience a life that we consider very much authentic for rural germany, and we will always help you organize any day trips or similiar that you want to make.Tipos de ajuda e oportunidades de aprendizado

We love to host guests from all around the world, seeking different perspectives. We love to talk about your culture and ours and will answer all questions that you might have. We were always sorry to see our guest leave! You will be part of a family on the other side of the world, not only for the time spent here.
In more practical terms: you will improve your gardening and carpentry skills, you will get to know authentic village life on the Swabian Alps, sustainable living, and you will experience a beautiful landscape that offers opportunities for many outdoor activities.Ajuda
We mostly use a "market gardening" approach for vegetable farming. That means: most of the work is done manually, not with machines. Establishing new garden beds, planting and growing vegetables, watering and weed control, harvesting and cleaning prduce: this list is by no means exhaustive, but should give an impression of what there is to do.
We always work on building the infrastructure necessary to do all of these things, too - creating an irrigation system for example. Renovating our farm at this point mostly involves interior work. You would be asked to help with any tasks related, usually doing the exact same we do at that time - but we are quite flexible in that regard, too. You are welcome to join with your skills and any interest which matches our project.Idiomas

We can accomodate you in our guest house, which is part of the farm. You will have access to a shared kitchen and a shared bathroom. Everything has been recently re-furnished and renovated, with all amenities provided. There is a pantry at the guest house that we always restock, same goes for the kitchen - there is always enough food around. We ourselves eat and cook vegan, and try to (at least) share lunch with our guests. You'll have access to our (e)bikes. We will always offer ride sharing with our cars. There is a bus stop within 200 meters.

You can - and should - definitely visit the danube valley or any of the beatiful castles/old cities nearby. Multi-day bike tours or hikes are absolutely recommended. Public transportation is somewhat lacking in the immediate area, but we will always find a way to get you to the next train station and pick you back up, for example.
