She also spent a full month on her own at the finca while we were away, taking care of everything with total responsibility, care, and autonomy. We felt so calm and at ease knowing she was here — she’s a truly trustworthy, proactive, and solid person.
Carlota, you are now part of this home. Thank you for everything you brought, for all the laughter, the chats, the help, and the presence. We’re so happy to have shared this piece of life with you — and you know there’s always a place for you here in La Isla Bonita.

I stayed with Ronny and Eva at the Isola Bonita for a few month, it was an amazing experience as my first time as a work away.
They accept me as part of the family and the work per se, if you really like it, it's a peace of cake and it's like be in heaven because you have a great view of the ocean and the others islands.

I was made very welcome by Ronny, Eva and her children Ales and Malu, who make you feel like part of the family.
The place is a real haven of peace and I had a real moment of disconnection on a beautiful island that is absolutely worth visiting.

Volunteers don’t just help out — they become part of our daily life, part of the family. We love welcoming people with open hearts who are ready to share, learn, and grow together.
We really appreciate Merle’s honest feedback. It would have been great to hear during her stay that she was wishing for more variety or clearer communication, as we are always open to adapting things when we know someone’s needs. Open communication is key for us, and we see this exchange as a co-creation.

I spent 3 weeks at Evas and Ronnys place and had a great time there, in a well thought-out permaculture garden.
I did some gardening work like laying and digging new beets, cutting plants and sorting seeds.
The Finca has an incredible view above the sea and a small and cosy community kitchen. I had a bed in a small room with another

Usually Ronny were cooking and I enjoyed when we all (also the Kids!) were sitting together at lunch time and had great conversations and delicious (!) food! I wont forget: He loves pasta and different typs of soups :)
I also joined a dance lesson, it was very funny.
Ronny is passionate about gardening and has a lot of knowledge so a learned a bit. Sometimes I wished the tasks would be more varied or together with other volunteers and that the communication in general would be more specific and clear.
All in all I had a great time there , with open and friendly people and good food!

I spent the last 3 weeks on this beautiful finca and wow I had such a great time! Ronny and Eva are the most caring, kind, open and simply amazing people. … read more would wish for. And of course the kids are both so lovely and vivid. They were always ready to help me with my spanish while we did a lot of origami together :).
The work itself was very easy and I liked how it didn't really get boring because there was always something different to do. In the morning I fed the animals and then (after enjoying a delicious breakfast with freshly picked eggs and the creamiest avocados) I did tasks like weeding, removing etiquettes from glass bottles, cutting bushes, laying paths and going to the beach to find the perfectly sized stones for the roof of the new massage room that is now being constructed! Oh, and I learned about the insulating properties of picón! So, all in all there was always something to do, although I never felt pressured to do the work in a certain time and I was very free to decide at what time of the day I want to do the tasks.
The finca itself is absolutely stunning with such an amazing view on the sea and I loved to do some yoga on the terrace in the morning, while the sun rose out of the sea! And don't even get me started on the garden, it has the most delicous vegetables and fruits, a lot of things that I have never seen before but they are so good!
The bed is in a simple room that I shared at times with another volunteer (which was very nice) and I slept very well at night (if I wasn't woken up by any roosters ;)). And once I got used to it, I even enjoyed the cold showers.
All in all I can say that this was the perfect first workaway experience for me and I already miss the place and the people. Also La Palma is such a beautiful island with stunning nature, hikes and beaches! One time Eva even organized a surf lesson for me (because a friend of hers
is a surf teacher) which was very cool.

I spent an amazing 4 weeks in the finca and for my first Workaway experience I feel really grateful that it was this place. As soon as I arrived, I already felt that it's going to be an awesome journey.

… read more after a nice dinner with a lot of meaing and teachings. Ares and Malu are really fun kids, they are real characters, full of energy and they also taught me some spanish which was really cool. Their dog Sal is also a really entertaining and sweet dog.
During my staying in the finca, the tasks were always really diverse and differnent. It was really nice to plant aloe vera, banana trees and planting a lot of local plants. We also cleaned out the finca's water tank, which was a really physical job at first but later on it became one of my favorite tasks to do.
The hours of work were flexible, so one day maybe we did a bit more depending on the task, but then some days we did a bit less, and this kind of volunteering in my opinion created a really nice balance. On my free days I always had the opportunity to visit different places on the island, or I joined the family when they went to somewhere, the beach or to visit a cool place.
Also I really liked to food that we ate, a really healhy and mostly vegetarian diet with a lot of herbs, avocados, fruits and plants from the garden, I always felt really energized from a fresh orange juice directly from the tree.
Overall the time in the finca was really speical, because it was wonderful to live with a really loving and caring family towards each other which was super nice to see.
There you have a glance to type of living, where you are able to be more sustainable in a lot of ways, being minimalist and also self-sufficient, and it is great to realize what is important and that you have literally everything you need for a fulfilling quality life.

Our work consisted in taking care of the animals and feeding them, gardening, planting vegetables, cooking lunch and it was very flexible.
Ronny is working towards creating a food forest in his finca. He has several fruits trees and he is planning to plant more. His admirable vision is to produce food in the most sustainable and natural way possible and to preserve and share seeds.

… read more really privacy but on the other hand the atmosphere is always lively and full of energy. We never stopped learning about permaculture and since the project is at its first stages the "experimenting" attitude of Ronny and Sofia is really stimulating.
Their attempt to be self sufficient it's something really interesting, first of all because meals are mostly made with products of the garden and there's a great attention on reducing wastes and re-use and re-invent objects.

In La Palma I found a little corner of paradise with breathtaking views where I spent 4 fantastic weeks in the finca of Ronny, Sofia, Ares and Malù.
An experience where I learned many things thanks to the love and dedication that Ronny and Sofia employ in project and doing things.
They were so welcoming and already treated me like family after the

I also learned to taste new flavors thanks to them who knew how to transform any vegetable that the finca gave us in super nutritious and delicious dishes and I wouldn't be surprised if one day in the future I will return in La Palma I will find Chef Ronny and Sofia at the head of a restaurant ahahh.
I also really admired the fact that this family has left everything in Italy to chase the desire that everyone search in their own life, "happiness" and they found it coming to La Palma and starting their life from zero.
This happiness is surely feed thanks to Ares and Malù, two gorgeous children who were able to teach me to find the child that is inside me and that after years I had left behind.
The kids can be challenging at times and I realized that being a parent can be a very demanding job, but I had a lot of fun with them! and they have kind hearts and I will miss them, especially the clever little lady Malù ahahha.

… read more was not planned Ronny and Sofia where very welcoming and offer us to stay as long as we need. the vegetable garden was growing very well and it was great to have a lot of organic fresh vegetable everyday. 1. THE HOSTS
-to stay with a family was a total new experience but both of em made me feel like home and as much comfortable as possible

3. ACCOMODATION
-i had some luck with the room coz i didnt need to share it. the bed might be old but i never had a bad night. the room itself is kinda old fashioned but has its own charme. besides of this the house has lots of spots to chill. and dont forget about the HUGE property. theres always a place for privacy.
4. THE WORK
-iam studying ecosystem managment but ronny thought me more than all the lectures together. he has an enormous knowledge of everything that grows or is related to. we had some chilled mornig session with same amount of rest after lunch. than some more work in the evening. the work was very diversified and never booring.
during the weekends i could do whatever i want to or join the family at the beach or some adventures
5. SUMMARY
-if youre looking for some safe haven far from home in a highly permaculture way of life this family is a must.
