I stay at Catherine and Liam's for a month and it was fantastic! I was lucky enough to have sun everyday so I did outside jobs in the garden and field. Tasks like weeding, cutting, digging, cleaning and a bit of painting. The house is beautiful and clean, just few km away from Killarney and surrounded by beautiful walks and spot.

I had the pleasure of hosting Jessy for 2 weeks in my home at the end of July, which flew by as she settled in right away. She helped with a variety of domestic tasks in the house as well as in the garden. We went on several walks around the Killarney area as we were taking advantage of the little bit of good weather we had during her stay.

I really enjoyed my stay, even though I've been sick the first week. The work was duable and rewarding. Everyone was super nice and welcoming. Despite being sick for the first few days, once she was back on her feet Caolan did her best to perform the jobs I asked her to do. The weather went against us a bit so we we a bit limited on outside tasks.

Sarah was an absolute pleasure to host. In fact, things went so well I didn’t know where to start with the review as she is a such a kind soul.
She is incredibly capable, organised and very eager to help out with whatever I asked of her. I was delighted with her input as she definitely got me sorted and started all my seeds off as I couldn’t

She is definitely not afraid to get her hands dirty and makes a fabulous ginger cordial, be sure to get the recipe!! She is also a dab hand at sorting out bag loads of briars which seemed to pop up everywhere this year.
We swopped ideas and had lots of interesting conversations about how to improve the fertility of the soil as I am transitioning to organic gardening and willing to try all sorts of home made fertilisers.
I encouraged her exploration of the area as we live quite close to the Killarney National Park. She ventured further afield and walked the old Kenmare Road back to Killarney, that’s no mean feat on your own as it’s a 4 hour hike!! Not to mention cycling from Lord Brandon's cottage through the Gap of Dunloe and back into town, not for the faint hearted.
Our two cats were definitely thrown into a depression after she left as they loved nothing better than to curl up in her lap for a bit of attention. Sarah is quite honestly an absolute fabulous person, and I would welcome her back again without hesitation.

I spent a little over a month and half here, and right from the start, Catherine and Liam were very welcoming and hospitable. The accommodation was very nice: I had a bedroom and bathroom all to myself in their spacious house. The activities I did were dictated largely by weather, which unfortunately in March and April wasn't very cooperative. It
… read more is Ireland in springtime, after all! When it wasn't raining too hard, I did various tasks like pulling briars, pruning trees, and weeding. Both Catherine and Liam have office jobs, so often I'd be working on tasks by myself. This wasn't a problem for me, as I enjoy having time to listen to audiobooks or music or just let my mind wander, but I would imagine that if you are highly extraverted, you might find this arrangement difficult. There were some joint activities, as well, like building gates and fences. They have a beautiful property and it has inspired dreams for what I'd like my own place to look like, if I ever have a property.
On times off, I would often bike (excuse me - cycle) to the Killarney National Park, which you must not miss if you come visit!! I cannot emphasize that enough: there are so many exquisitely beautiful areas to visit there, and the park has no entry fee.
I could probably ramble on for a while longer, but I'll close by saying that Catherine is a generous host and a lovely individual. She gave me lots of tips on places to explore and is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to plants, gardening, baking, and much more (including building gates! I'll never look at a gate the same way again). I definitely feel like I got the better end of the deal, when it comes to my workaway experience here. I learned lots and I feel like the whole experience helped me grow in confidence. Thanks Catherine and Liam!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

Most importantly he cleared up after the job was completed, he was very committed to doing a good job which I would be happy with.
I really enjoyed mealtimes as we got to chat about a range of topics and share lots of interesting meals together. I was sad to see him move on and I would definitely recommend him and wish him well for the future and his next adventure in life wherever that will take him!!

Catherine, Liam and their family were wonderful, wonderful hosts which made my short 1wk stay with them so enjoyable. She was an excellent teacher, always put us first as workers and insisted that we take time after the day to explore the beautiful area.
Their profile doesn’t do justice to the beautiful Killarney countryside for those of us who have never been, and I learnt so much about Irish history and culture. This is an excellent cultural exchange if you’re willing to ask and learn about how life goes on in rural Ireland!
I would absolutely recommend this stay to everyone who loves the outdoors, animals and who loves to talk as Catherine has an infectious, bubbly personality and is always down for a laugh. She also encouraged me to go see some places nearby as the National Park or other beautiful places when it wasn't raining. Catherine was flexible with the hours so I chose to work longer days which gave me the opportunity to spend days exploring the area. I particularly enjoyed riding around the National Park, a must see is the forest beside Ross Castle, where the wild garlic was in full bloom, truly magical! A highlight for me was our sea swim and Sauna at Cromane Beach, thanks Aisling and Catherine for coming with me!
Lots of good healthy food available for you to help yourself, fresh eggs daily, and Catherine is a great cook. Luna and Jeffrey are the family dogs, they hung outside while working in the garden, they also like a good cuddle.
