I stayed at Cathy's place for about 3 months and I cannot describe how grateful I am to had the chance to be part of this wonderful family. Thank you a thousand times for welcoming me within your beautiful coffee and sharing your love for this place so unique. … read more my short life. This place clearly has something magical, it turned me into a coffee lover/addict lol knowing that I hated coffee before hand.
I had the chance to live the remote life and get to know the beautiful community of Colville.
The accommodation is a spacious self contained building with all the necessities (washing machine, cooking equipment, room, TV etc...). You can have your very own space next to the coffee.
Many thanks to Dave, Kim, Andy, Charlie, George, my wonderful coworkers/bachmate Harriet, Peggy, Bethany, Elsbeth for the great time together and the good laughs.
And of course thank you Cathy for your kindness, patience and support during my time here ❤️

Place and family is beautiful.
We spend only 4night because we have to go next place .
they invited us very worm and nice house.
We could do a little things!! but made beautiful moments!
Cathy's Food is delicious !!!
I loved it!!
People who come this cafe are everyone friendly and kind!!!
We wanted to stay longer!!!

Staying at Cathy’s place was an absolute delight. From the moment we arrived, Cathy was incredibly welcoming, kind, and humble—just a joy to work with.
The property itself is stunning, with accommodation that includes everything you need: a kitchen, toilet, and TV. The surrounding area is a paradise for nature lovers, with beautiful hiking trails

Cathy’s café is also really nice—the food there is simply delicious. Cathy went above and beyond by offering great advice on the best spots to visit, making our stay even more enjoyable. The work was pleasant and manageable, and Cathy made sure we didn’t feel overwhelmed.
A special thanks to Cathy’s brother, Dave, who kindly taught us how to fish in New Zealand. He, along with his kids, was a joy to be around and made our experience even more memorable.
We would absolutely love to visit and stay again! Our time here has been some of our favorite in New Zealand so far.Comentário

As soon as I read Ramona's profile I knew she would be a great fit and she was as amazing as I thought she would be. But not only that at our cafe, in everyday life she became a family member...she rode my sons motorbike, drove our hilux and did rubbish runs with us...helped with haymaking with one of my brothers, helped move furniture, made her accomodation we provided her home, joined us for family Christmas lunch, came on family beach trips and drives....she was with us for 3 months and I miss her a lot. I would totally reccommend Ramona to any host...she really is amazing!!!

It was my first time outside of Europe and I couldn't have found a better place. Cathy was really nice and welcoming and I felt like part of the family. I stayed for 3 months and didn't feel like going somewhere else.

The hours are flexible, with enough time to explore the beautiful peninsula. It's helpful if you have a car, as there is no transportation there, but I managed my way around by hitchhiking. PS. It was during summer, with lots of cars going back and forth and it was pretty easy to catch a ride.
Colville is a nice and chill town, in a beautiful place, with beautiful green hills and opening to the sea. People there are really nice and welcoming, it's like a small community.
I'm grateful I found this amazing place with such beautiful people and I had an amazing experience with them. I'll definitely go back there next time I'm in NZ.

Elisabeth was a ray of sunshine in our cafe every single day. She was competant, capable and had such great energy that lifted us all. I stayed with Cathy and her family for about three weeks. It was a lovely time! The area is gorgeous, nice for running and exploring by car/kayak. The work at the cafe was really enjoyable since the team was really warm and welcoming to me! I loved the small town vibes and would highly recommend staying here!

Cathy is a very nice person. She's very busy with her business and family even during low season. For a week, I helped by painting outside wood buildings. I'm pretty sure tasks can be very various and working hours are flexible.

Loved having Camille stay with us. Really easy going, self motivated and a rally hard worker. Really easy to have around and a really nice manner. We would have her back any time and I would recommend her to anyone for anything....she is so capable.

Had a lovely stay with Cathy and the family. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We stayed for 7 weeks! Although the weather was wet for the most part we still managed to help out somewhat with the staining and the building. Flexible hours in the cafe. Learnt some new skills too! Plus we got to explore the peninsula abit while we were there.

Unfortunately I was only able to stay with Cathy for a week as my travel time was very limited. I wish I had had more time! The working hours are very flexible (depending on the number of customers). I had to work on my own projects anyway, so that wasn't a problem for me.

Previous experience is recommended for working in the café / service, but is not absolutely necessary.
Cathy gave me a very warm welcome and I felt very comfortable. Would come back anytime :)

… read more went from November-January and there are a lot more hours in the weeks following Christmas so it was nice having some time before then to explore. I recommend getting a car (and insurance!!) before going to the Coromandel as there are not many public transportation options to/from the peninsula and there's so much to see once you're there. The bach is really close to the cafe and has good facilities (hot water, washing machine, etc.) There was plenty of space for me and one other person.
