Descrição
We are a German-Dutch couple with 2 sons, 10 and 8 years old. We are living on a wonderful piece of land far from any city, enjoying good neighborhood and friendship with the chilean people. We are building up our farm, having build our own eco house and the whole infrastructure. Now we are almost done.
We have a big garden, where we grow vegetables and produce seeds. We take care of our animals (3 horses, 10 cows, 12 chicken, 2 pigs, 4 goat kids, 5 cats and a dog), which includes several hey making events. We try to live as self sufficient as possible and make our own bred and milk products.
We always enjoy the help and company of other people, teaching and learning all about farming and construction.

Oportunidades de intercâmbio cultural e aprendizado
Simple life with good food in a wonderful surrounding far from cities. Possibility to work and learn about gardening, making cheese and bred and eco construcción. Contact and exchange with neighbors and learning about traditional Patagonian (gaucho) life is possible.
We would like to share a good time together as everything is very basically and close together and we are 10 km from Palena. Until now it has worked.

Ajuda
We are always happy and thankful about help. The tasks of 25/26 is to prepare the garden, make firewood, clean the land, create a hiking trail and other tasks outside, that need power and the will to get dirty. Apart from that you can always give a hand in the household with cooking and cleaning.
From December on we hopefully start the cheese season. January and february we are going to make hey, which needs some strong hands as well. Raspberries have to be picked at that time as well.
So there is always plenty of tasks around, mainly physically and mainly outside.
Generally we have a lot of tasks with plants and soil; animals we take care of ourselves.

Acomodação
Basic and rustical: a room with your own kitchen, outside shower (with warm water when the sun is shining) and outside compost toilets. Outside is plenty space with a roof next to a waterfall, where you can make fire. We eat together a warm lunch. Breakfast and dinner (bread or cereals) on your own. (We provide you with the food of course.) From January on we have vegetables from our garden, milk, cheese, yogurt and meat from our cows, self made bred... Alcohol and sweets are not included and can be bought ~ once a week in Palena.

In free time you can go walking in the mountain, fishing, swimming, horse riding (only from January on and if the horses are close, have shoes and you are really able to ride) and meeting other people. Or just enjoy the pure nature around us. For transportation come by bus to Palena and we get you.

Living in the valley is very quiet and calm, and the surroundings are beautiful.

it was very varied. The landscape is very beautiful. I enjoyed it a lot to sit there and watch the nature.
