Pity that I can only stay with Ingrid and Joseph for 5 days because my visa was going to expire. It's still an unforgettable experience that I had a wonderful road trip with Joseph and two other workawayers. Joseph is not only a good host, but also a perfect tour guide haha! The bedroom I stayed is cosy and I got my own bathroom. Ingrid's cooking is beautiful. Thanks for giving me a remarkable end of my adventure in Western Australia.

My stay at Ingrids and Josephs place is already 6 months ago, but if I think back to that time, I’m still overwhelmed by their kindness.
Initially I should stay with another workaway host, so I arrived at the airport in Perth but sadly got ghosted by that host, so I reached out to Joe. Without thinking twice he said that they have a place for me,
… read more and he picked me up at the airport half an hour later early in the morning.
Joe and Ingrid are an inspiring couple. They have hosted many workawayers and couch-surfers over the years. I had my own room with a big, comfy bed and my own bathroom. All food was provided. Joe took me to explore Perth, Fremantle and a waterfall. And Ingrid dropped me off at the train station so I could make a day trip to Rottnest Island.
The work was really easy going. I weeded the garden, helped with the cleaning and walked their dog Valentino. They tough me a lot about Western Australia and gave me countless tips for my upcoming Western Australia camper van trip.

Joseph and Ingrid are knowledgeable, intelligent, friendly and extremely welcoming people. Both have hosted over 200 coachsurfers in the past, so they really are experts at showing you around the area and being perfect hosts.
They put me at ease instantly. They helped me set up my tax code and bank account and use their address to get both
… read more delivered. They gave me advice on Australia (they have both been born and bred in Western Australia, so they are the best people to give advise).
They introduced me to many of their friends and family who were all incredible people. Meeting Joseph and Ingrids friends and family provided me with an excellent perception of how the people are in Western Australia.
The food is absolutely stunning, Ingrid is such an incredible cook. Delicious different, well thought-out meals every single day. You will be asking her for recipes like I did.
The couple are a very well traveled couple, there is not many places they have not been. This means that they are very interesting people and have some fantastic stories about their travels.
In terms of what they wanted from me, it was just the odd bit of gardening. It was very relaxed. However, it felt nice knowing that I am helping them out (in a small way) as they have helped me out so much. You will feel the same.
Joseph was really more concerned about focusing on showing us the most he could around Western Australia. Every single day they went out of their way to show us something new and beautiful to see. And boy, are there so many places to see? YES. We visited Wine and cheese tasting places, National Parks, The City Centre, The Ocean, Beaches, Drives through the country, Nights away up the coast, and much much much more. You will feel alive after doing all these activities.
Their open and welcoming perspective on life taught me a lot and was something that I will never forget for the rest of my life.
