We had an amazing time with Carlos. He is very attentive, funny, curious, hard-working, and accommodating. I wouldn't have enough space here to list all his qualities. We lived like a family, and Carlos was truly a part of it.
As he works in construction, he has extensive knowledge and skills, but he is also eager to learn new building
… read more techniques. He was perfectly fine with waking up very early, driving an hour to the work site, and spending the entire day working. Sometimes, he even stayed late to ensure the job was finished.
We spent plenty of time chatting about a wide range of subjects, which was a great pleasure. We also had a wonderful cultural exchange, introducing him to our food and culture, which he embraced wholeheartedly. In return, we learned so much about Mexico, but we’ll need to visit him there for the full experience.
Thank you so much, Carlos, for all the wonderful moments and attention you shared with us. Initially, we hosted you because we needed help with building our houses, but in the end, spending time with you turned out to be reason enough to welcome you.

It might seem like the first and most important thing I should talk about is Jerome's amazing construction project (it's incredibly interesting, and if you're into sustainable projects and different construction processes, you have to check it out). But I’d rather talk about the people and the experiences. Jerome, Lise, Mary, and Oceane, from the
… read more moment I met them, made sure I had everything I needed for an unforgettable experience. Beyond the amazing food (homemade meals, fondues, raclettes, bread, chocolate, etc.), the incredible hospitality, and the beautiful place... the bond I formed with the hosts, who are now friends, was just amazing. Writing a feedback like this is hard because there's not enough space to explain everything I want to say — I’d need an entire book to do it justice. All I can say is that I met people who truly open their lives to share with me. I don't have the words to describe how happy I am after spending this time with them.

Mattheo spent two months with us and was a great addition to the team. He is very funny and truly enjoys spending time with people. He is incredibly easygoing and gets along with everyone. He shared the camper van with different people, and it always went smoothly.
Mattheo is also a hard worker. He would get up early, drive an hour to the
… read more worksite, and spend the entire day outside, sometimes finishing by night to ensure the job was completed.
He came to us as a workawayer and left as a friend. He will always be welcome here.

An incredible experience spent with Lise and Jérôme for nearly two months. I was very well welcomed and well fed (especially with the cheese and chocolate... it's not a myth in Switzerland). I was able to enjoy numerous visits and hikes, thanks to the insightful advice of my favorite Swiss hosts.

… read more extremely interesting. The work environment and organization are excellent. The professionals we work with are very kind and great teachers. The atmosphere is always caring and very relaxed.
Une expérience incroyable passée avec Lise et Jérôme pendant près de deux mois. J'ai été très bien accueilli et très bien nourri (surtout avec le fromage et le chocolat... ce n'est pas une légende en Suisse). J'ai pu notamment faire de nombreuses visites et randonnées grâce aux conseils avisés de mes Suisses préférés.
Le projet de construire deux maisons en paille est extrêmement intéressant. L'environnement de travail et l'organisation y sont excellents. Les professionnels avec qui nous travaillons sont très gentils et pédagogues. L'ambiance y est toujours bienveillante et très détendue.
Surtout un grand merci a Lise, Jérôme, Marie et Océanne. A bientôt

Kevin is funny, talented, serious, and hard-working. He came to help us build our straw bale house. While I couldn’t always be on the worksite, I could easily delegate the direction of the work to him. He managed the team of volunteers exceptionally well, and we consistently received great feedback from everyone who worked with him.

I've known Jérôme for around 10 years and when we were talking about his project, I was very motivated to join and help out!
Lise and Jérôme are wonderful and generous people that truly care about making volunteers feel welcome into their home.
I helped them out for a month and half, building the load carrying straw bale wall section that will
… read more get assembled onto the house in the near future. It was a very rich experience with many volunteers (some of their friends and family, but also many architects and other professionals interested in this new construction technique) coming for one or more days. The interactions were wonderful with many different skills and backgrounds getting mixed together.
The project is very innovative and there is a true will to push the envelope in terms of natural building. There is a lot to learn from this!Comentário

Jerome and Lise were amazing hosts!! they were so generous with their time, space and energy. Even though we were sick they welcomed us with open arms and went out of their way to give us an amazing experience. The work was really fun, and they are very flexible and understanding. We are so grateful they were our first Workaway! Highly recommend!
