We had Julian and Elsa stay with us for 5 weeks.We absolutely recommend them as excellent workawayers! Such a pleasure to meet them,both are very charming and taught us things as well e.g. how to make sourdough.We shared some delicious meals and happy evenings .
On a practical note they weeded our garlic crop,harvested ginger,dug trenches,prepared
… read more verge gardens,cleared some forest for a new goat paddock as well as building a new goat shelter.All this with a cheerful hardworking and non complaining attitude.Also they were just in time to witness the birth of twin goats!
We would love to host them again anytime and wish them every happiness in all of their ventures.It was sad to say goodbye to them and we miss them already.
By the way they left our guest quarters in an exceptionally clean state on departure,Thank you again Elsa and Julian you were wonderful.

We enjoyed 10 days with Jakob and Karolina,Both were highly motivated and a real pleasure to meet and have in our home and farm.
They attended with thoroughness and great attitude all that was asked of them.This included feeding goats and chooks and geese ,also feeding and playing with our dog Sunny!(who now misses them)
Other tasks were weeding
… read more the organiic garlic crop,planting out a vegetable garden and making a path to our front door.
At all times they were very well mannered and keen to communicate their culture to us.We had meals together and they cooked a Chech meal for us!
We know that wherever they go they will bring lots of energy and enthusiasm,it was lovely to meet them

June and Peter are absolutely amazing people! We spent two weeks at their place and wished we could stayed longer. They have so many interesting things to teach you. Most of the time we were weeding the garlic, feeding the animals and then we did some smaller job around the house. Their property is very beautiful. We got used to it so quickly. We
… read more shared some delicious meals together and had many wonderful conversations! They also took us to the river where we had picnic and saw a platypus, which was amazing! We feel very lucky that we had an opportunity to meet Peter and June! They are really special, because they make you feel like you belong there. This was definitely our best workaway we did so far!

Monique and Simon stayed with us for 3 weeks. Both are energetic, bright, inquisitive and extremely capable. They work well as a team or separately and nothing asked of them was too much trouble. They have made a lasting and valuable impression on us and our farm. Jobs included planting and mulching garlic, vegetable gardening, weeding, pruning
… read more and rock paving...all to a high standard. They had a particular interest in looking after the animals and showed a special affinity with the dog and the goats.We miss them already.

Peter and June gave us a variety of interesting and rewarding farming, gardening and maintenance tasks, including garlic planting, weeding, mulching, fence mending, painting, feeding the animals and laying a rock patio. We loved it all.
We would like to say thank you Peter and June for welcoming us into your life, for the laughs, interesting conversation, education, kindness and warmth.
Thank you for the care and consideration you demonstrated to us, and for your family, your animals, mankind, the environment and the future. You have helped us to affirm that we are on the right path in our own life.

Torin and Cara stayed on our farm for 3 weeks.We really enjoyed our time with them,they are friendly and able to fit in with whatever is happening.
They both worked with100% energy and never complain,quick to pick up skills and reliable and punctual.

What an amazing 3 weeks we had at Peter & June's organic farm. Originally we had planned to stay 2 weeks but we were kindly offered to stay longer if we wished. We worked for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. On our days off, we got dropped into Byron Bay/ wherever we wished to visit (Thanks again, Peter and June). The work consisted of things such as
… read more gardening, mulching, general maintenance, bunching sunflowers, feeding the animals, help with child care, cleaning out the goats pen. The work was enjoyable and working with both Peter and June was a pleasure. Everyday they went out of their way to make us feel extremely welcomed... not to mention the amazing food they provided us with. Our fridge was never empty! We were invited to multiple family special occasions, which really allowed us to form a strong bond with both Peter and June as well as some of their family. On top of that, our accommodation was beyond what we could have ever expected! The outdoor kitchen was a delight to cook in, we had our own bathroom, as well as a beautiful guestroom to sleep in. Peter and June also let us make use of the plunge pool, trampoline and even mowed paths for us to visit various parts of the farm (in fact Peter kindly showed us the way to the swim spots). We both enjoyed our time on the farm so much that we definitely plan to revisit again! Thank you for inspiring, sharing and welcoming us!

Our experience at Peter and June’s place is just been amazing ,we couldn’t ask for better!
In our stay we helped harvesting garlic, clean and hang them at the barn. We also when required help gardening, feeding animals and other little job around the farm. Everything really easy and enjoyable. We worked from 8 o’clock till 12/12.30.

Hard working, interactive, positive guests.
We spent 3 weeks volunteering at the garlic, ginger and tumeric farm and had an absolutely brilliant time! We helped with a variety of tasks including harvesting and hanging garlic, planting and mulching ginger, weeding the garden, clearing leaves from the gutters, painting and varnishing, making bunches of sunflowers to sell and feeding and
… read more watering the chickens. We found all the tasks enjoyable and interesting and our work was really appreciated, making it a real pleasure helping out. Peter and June are fantastic hosts, they work hard but are also laid back and both have a great sense of humour. It was lovely hearing their stories about the history of the farm and we learnt a lot about farming various crops and about the wildlife found on the farm. Our accommodation was great! A large, airy and bright self-contained area above a working barn and the food we were provided with was excellent and plentiful. We worked 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, which gave us plenty of time to relax in the peaceful surroundings and to explore the beautiful countryside with the ute that we were very kindly allowed to borrow on several occasions. Our stay with Peter and June was without a doubt the best workaway experience we have had so far! We have made great friends and hope to visit again in the future.
