We are an older couple who need some help taming our wild gardens. If you enjoy gardening or have pruning skills there are no end of jobs to do. Also if you have building/handyman skills you may be able to earn some money as well as accommodation. There are walking tracks to explore, swimming, snorkelling, diving, surfing and beach combing.

We live on a remote island, generate our own power and live in a very beautiful place. We mainly attract people who want to embrace nature and get away from the big cities for a while. Most people who are here enjoy their stay and go away with new experiences. It is a friendly Island where it is easy to hitch around if you do not have a car.

We have an big rambling garden so there is always gardening to do. Collecting firewood, feeding chickens, helping out on building projects.

Acomodação
You would be staying either in a backpackers dorm room (4 beds) or a double room. Shared showers, toilet and kitchen. You would work 3 hrs a day for your accommodation. There is a communal kitchen where you can cook for yourselves.

There is a beautiful beach 5 minutes walk away. Surfing, swimming, fishing, stargazing and bushwalks are some of the most popular things to do. We hope that you can entertain yourselves and show some initiative when given work to do.

I apologize for not doing this sooner. Levi was a fabulous guy to have help. He was willing to do the jobs I couldn't and always had a good attitude. Very self sufficient and embraced the environment. Enjoyed a joke with Malcolm and we loved having him. Hopefully we'll see him again.

I was delighted to stay with Robyn and Malcolm for 9 days to help with the laundry and feed the ducks and chickens. The place was very pleasant with a lush garden. And my hosts were the kindest. I'm blessed to have been able to stay here, while still being able to enjoy the island. I recommend it 100%. Thanks again :)

We had a wonderful week at Robyn and Malcolm’s place. We felt really welcomed. It is a small hostel with a very beautiful garden and ocean view from the outside breakfast table. The work was easy. Most we enjoyed the Medlands Beach. It is five Minutes to walk and has fantastic waves . We could use bodyboards from Robyn and Malcolm… :)

We had a wonderful stay with Robyn and Malcolm. The island is absolutely beautiful and Medland Beach (the one near the property) is truly the greatest one on Great Barrier. I felt super welcome even when I got sick they cared for me and where super nice :)

We spent an absolutely amazing 10 days with Robyn and Malcom on the island. They are really wonderful people and the place is just incredible! Beautiful beach just 5 mins down the road and ocean-view from our hut. Couldn't have asked for a better start on our journey! Hope to come by again sometime :)
