I stayed with Janette for 2 weeks as my first workaway experience in June. I had a great time on Wolfe Island working on her market garden. Janette is very knowledgeable about sustainable agriculture and I learned quite a bit working with her. … read more surprisingly good for such a small island and the beaches on the lake were nice to relax at. Kingston, a 30 minute free ferry ride away, was cool to visit. There were lots of restaurants and shops to explore. I would highly recommend this workaway experience to anyone looking for something in Ontario.

This is place was amazing! I stayed to Janette's farm 2 weeks. I did many jobs there. The mainly thing was preparing some stuff before the winter is coming. I mean, we ordered the fire woods, cleaned the compost, prepared the vegetable garden, planted some seeds, cleaned the barn (stables and water tank), put plastic on the windows, etc. It was
… read more worked out and I love that. Janette makes sure that you are feeling comfortable. Thus, we had shared many activities : horse riding,yoga, Sandy beach walking, movie night and dinners with her friends and her family and restaurant. I took my time to visit Gananoque and Kingston too.
Thank you Janette for every things! Your kindness, hospitality, conversing, laughing, cooking, playing piano etc.
So, if you like to be inside a friendly atmosphere and looking for some pretty Towns it is the place to be!
If a nowadays, I will be around this area ...I will be to come back at the same warm area.

Wonderful experience& location!
I only spent one week with Janette which was acctually way too short. She was very kind and we did a lot of different things during the week. We went hiking, to the beach and the cinema, had sushi and she took me to her yoga classes. We had a lot of fun and I had the chance to see Kingston as well as the beautiful
… read more Wolfe Island with it‘s lovely community. Her horses are wonderful, as well as her cute little cat, and riding them was amazingl! Janette was incredibly kind and caring and it was very interesting to learn some things about gardening and organic food from her.

I stayed with Janette and Melanie for three weeks instead of the original plan of two weeks. They made me feel very much at home. The community on Wolfe Island is very great with a lot of interesting and cool people that I got to meet. I also got the opportunity to go into Kingston and look around as well as explore the island.
The work I did
… read more consisted mostly of helping them build stalls in the barn for the horses. For when the winter finally comes. Other than we cleaned up the yard some, carrying wood and the like. Both Janette and Melanie work very hard themselves as well, but they know how to relax and have fun as well.
I personally did not interact much with the horses, although I am sure that if I had asked it would have been no problem. They also have a big old dog called William who is very sweet and likes to lean on you. I personally liked their kitten the best, he was adorable when he wasn't trying to destroy your hands.
All in all I had a fantastic time with great food and great company. I will miss the island and hopefully I will be able to visit again sometime in the future.Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

Janette and Melanie has a really big hause so takes a lot of work.
It was my first experience as workawayers in Canada, and for me it was really nice to work with them.
the place is really magical, you don't think a place like that is in Kingston. The beach are sternly WONDERFUL and MAGICAL

Maggie and William are the most wonderful animals i never met before.
