I own a 52ft sailboat located in Hawaii that I am in the process of refitting for offshore sailing.
The vessel may be sailing thru the Hawaain islands during this refit period. We are presently located in Hilo on the big island.
The vessel is anchored offshore.
We use a small dingy to go back and forth to shore.
There is a farmers market nearby for relatively inexpensive fresh produce.Tipos de ajuda e oportunidades de aprendizado

I've been sailing all my life and have over eighty thousand blue-water miles under my keel (and as many coastal) and enjoy sharing my knowledge and teaching people how to sail.
I am happy to pass on my years of sailing experience to others.
My hobbies include close up / slight of hand magic, photography, drones (both air quadcopters and undersea drones).
If you are a calm person with a positive attitude that has a curiosity for the natural world and enjoys experiencing (and respecting) other cultures this might be for you.
There is much to explore in Hawaii as it is a year-round paradise for hiking and water sports.Ajuda
The re-rigging of the vessel (new wires that hold up the mast) is almost complete. Other help aboard involves sanding and painting , the boat recently completed a 16,000 mile non-stop ocean voyage and can use a good cleaning and a new coat of paint inside and out.

You will have a stateroom or berth (bunk) with a curtain for sleeping quarters. The vessel has an electric Head (toilet) and portable shower.
A spacious galley (kitchen) with a propane stove.
Electricity is provided by solar panels; There is charging ports available for small items like phones and tablets and small current drawing items but there is not usually power available for larger items such as laptops etc. There is a good library in the town that has free charging stations for larger items. If the sun is shining brightly all day we can charge a laptop using the ships inverter but as some days are overcast I wanted to let you know that's not always possible.Algo mais...
The bus service on the island is free.
There is much to explore here. This is my favorite island in the chain. The people are very friendly and laid back. From active volcanoes and lava tubes to black and green sand beaches with turtles and warm tropical waters. It's a hiker and water-sport paradise.Mais alguns detalhes

No matter how bad the weather, you were always cheerful and helped to move the project forward using your many skills. ISHI'S rigging is now much stronger because of you.

Anyone who hosts you is privileged to have you.
An honest man who gives 100 percent in all you do.
You arrived during the season of rough waves and helped rescue other boats off the beach that ran aground during heavy weather and put in long hours to help save thier boat.
You kept going when others would have… read more
He was exceptionally communicative even when I wasn't as communicative as I should've been. He's very honest about what being aboard the Ishi is like ("it's like camping") and he makes sure that everything goes smoothly. He doesn't expect you to know anything before you arrive, about rowing, knots,… read more
A true humanitarian who gave his shoes to a homeless person so they could get on the bus on his first day on the island. You kept a cheerful and positive attitude even when the weather turned foul and truly made everyone's day better with you're positive outlook on life and your unwavering enthusiasm.

Two of the best workawayers I've had by far. Polite, clean, always willing to jump in and lend a hand without being asked.
We had so many laughs and good times while exploring the island and refitting the vessel. Even when the weather got rough they took it in stride and made the best out of every situation. I… read more
We had so many crazy experiences with Captain Don. He truly was our local tour guide! We saw so many cool stuff and learnt a lot about the history of the island, lava and all the hidden gems of this beautiful island. He is an amazing cook, his food was always delicious. He is just a really kind soul and has a really good… read more

He put in long hours getting the boat ready for a serious channel crossing and did so cheerfully, Even when the work was tough. His positive attitude and cheerful nature helped keep the crew moral high when sailing across the notorious kauai channel through the night. He's a man you can count on when the going… read more
Always willing to do more then was asked of him.
We put in some long hours getting the sailboat ready for an offshore passage and without his unwavering enthusiasm it would not have been possible.
I highly recommend him for any position.
