  We’re looking for someone grounded, kind, and steady — someone who enjoys quiet spaces, nature, and real, hands-on work. You’ll need to be comfortable with solitude, early mornings, and a simple life close to the land.
  
  Life here follows the rhythm of the seasons. The land work can be physical — pruning, gardening, clearing, or cob work — so it helps if you enjoy using your body and seeing visible results from your effort. Winters can be wet here, but sometimes you’ll find yourself in a T-shirt by midday. At times, full waterproofs are needed — it’s all part of the rhythm.
  
  We’re a small family living quietly in central Portugal, caring for this space with love as we prepare to move on in spring 2026. We’d love your help keeping the gardens and home cared for and beautiful for the next family.
  
  You’ll stay in our cosy attic room and have your own bathroom just outside the house. We share meals and rotate cooking and cleaning between us on a simple weekly rota. We eat meat and fish but can easily adapt if needed.
  
  We wake early and rest early — it’s a natural rhythm that suits this place and way of life. We ask for a minimum stay of two weeks so there’s time to settle in and really feel part of the flow here.
  
  It’s a peaceful and isolated spot — perfect if you enjoy time with your own thoughts, connection through shared meals and real conversation, and the quiet satisfaction of helping a living space thrive.

  Ajuda

  We usually work about 4–5 hours a day, five days a week, mostly in the mornings. The land and light here suit early starts — it’s when the air is fresh and the work feels good.
  
  We plan our week together in advance so everyone knows what’s coming and can balance work with rest, creativity, and time to explore. We can be flexible when needed, but keeping a steady rhythm helps everything flow.
  
  We like to share cooking and cleaning on a rota basis.

  English is our Mother tongue, with Hebrew as a second language for Mendel, Mani is learning and practicing his Portuguese through his Kindergarten. We would greatly value someone who could bring more Portuguese into our home life.

  Acomodação

  You’ll stay in our cosy attic room — a warm and simple space with plenty of peace and privacy. It’s comfortable and quiet, ideal for rest after time on the land. You’ll have your own bathroom and shower room, which is just outside the house.
  
  We share our meals together, rotating cooking and cleaning on a weekly rota so that everyone contributes and gets time off too. We eat a mix of nourishing home-cooked food — including meat and fish, though we’re happy to cook these separately if needed.
  
  We live on a gentle, steady rhythm — early mornings, early nights, and plenty of time outdoors. If you enjoy being part of a home that’s organised but relaxed, where everyone helps keep things flowing smoothly, you’ll fit right in.
  
  Or if you have your own campervan / caravan you’re welcome too.

  Our home is tucked away in a peaceful village, surrounded by wild woodlands and just a short drive (or a hilly walk) from breathtaking river beaches.
  While the village doesn’t have shops or cafes within walking distance, we’re out and about frequently during the week and happy to align our trips with anything you might need. It’s a wonderful place to disconnect, relax, and enjoy the beauty of nature. There isn't any nightlife close by and we are quiet people - if you are looking for busy hustle and bustle, with a lot of stimulation; we won't be a match.

  We don’t have WiFi but we both have unlimited data on our phones with good reception to use as a hotspot. We do turn our phones off at night so the hotspot would be unavailable from around 8-9pm. We are open to accepting families who have their own accommodation. The exchange doesn't have to involve childcare, but our life revolves around our Son and our family rhythm. Sometimes it might really flow for you to be with our Son for one of your work days if it flows for us all.

  Willing to discuss - we do have two friendly dogs and one cat. They are often fine with other dogs visiting, but we haven’t experienced another dog ‘moving in’ yet.
