Bring an old historic farm back to life! Help us build a horse paddock trail & eco-garden!
About our project:
Hi future volunteers! We are a group of three working professionals: Lea (29), Leon (30), and Karin (62). Together, we bought an old, historic GDR farm (LPG-Hof) to fulfill our dream of creating a sustainable haven for humans and animals.
The heart of our farm is our herd of 5 horses. We are currently building a modern open-stable system with a "paddock trail" to keep them happy and active. At the same time, we want to give back to nature: we are creating a large vegetable and flower garden and planning to plant many new trees.
We love cultural exchange and welcome people from all backgrounds and cultures!
As we are just three family members on the farm, we love to have more life with us. The idea is to create something together and learn from each other.
Your tasks & help hours:
We are looking for 1 to 3 motivated helpers. Depending on your skills and interests, you can help us with:
Light DIY: Helping us beautify the old farm buildings. Currently we are painting the doors.
Gardening & Nature: Creating garden beds, planting flowers/vegetables, and planting trees.
Horses & Stable: Assisting with little repairs of the paddock trail, mostly keeping all the spaces clean (horse experience is a plus, but not required!).
⏱️ Help hours: We ask for 4 hours of help per day, 5 days a week. Your free time and two days off per week are completely yours to relax or explore.
📅 Minimum stay: To get to know each other and make real progress on our projects, the minimum stay is 1 week. Longer stays are very welcome upon agreement!
Accommodation & Food:
You will stay in your own fully equipped apartment on the farm property, giving you plenty of privacy and space to relax after a rewarding day.
Food arrangements are flexible and will be decided individually with you – whether we cook together or you prefer to use your own kitchen, we will find a way that suits everyone.
Languages:
We speak German, English, and a little bit of Spanish. If you want to practice your German, we are more than happy to help you learn!

Über unser Projekt:
Hallo zukünftige Freiwillige! Wir sind eine dreiköpfige, berufstätige Gemeinschaft: Lea (29), Leon (30) und Karin (62). Zusammen haben wir uns einen großen Traum erfüllt und einen alten, geschichtsträchtigen LPG-Hof gekauft. Unser Ziel ist es, diesen Hof in ein nachhaltiges Paradies für Mensch und Tier zu verwandeln.
Das Herzstück unseres Hofes ist aktuell unsere Herde von 5 Pferden, für die wir einen modernen Offenstall mit einem Paddock Trail (Bewegungsanreize für Pferde) aufbauen. Da es sich um ein altes Hofgelände handelt, gibt es mehrere historische Gebäude, die viel Liebe und Renovierung brauchen. Gleichzeitig wollen wir der Natur etwas zurückgeben: Wir legen einen großen Garten für Gemüse und Blumen an und wollen viele neue Bäume pflanzen.
Wir sind offen für Menschen aus aller Welt und allen Kulturen! Bei uns wird viel gelacht, angepackt und voneinander gelernt.
Da wir nur zu dritt sind, wünschen wir uns mehr Leben auf dem Hof. Wenn viele verschiedene Menschen etwas beitragen, dann kann es ein schönes Gesamtkonstrukt werden!
Eure Aufgaben & Arbeitszeiten:
Wir suchen 1 bis 3 motivierte Helfer, die Lust haben, an verschiedenen Projekten mitzuwirken. Je nach euren Interessen und Fähigkeiten könnt ihr uns bei folgenden Dingen unterstützen:
Renovierung & Handwerk: Mithilfe beim Sanieren und Verschönern der alten Hofgebäude. Gerade streichen wir die Türen
Garten & Natur: Beete anlegen, Gemüse und Blumen pflanzen, Bäume setzen und pflegen.
Pferde & Stall: Unterstützung bei kleinen Reperaturen und der Pflege des Paddock Trails und des Offenstalls, meistens geht es um das Sauberhalten der Flächen (Pferdeerfahrung ist ein Plus, aber kein Muss!).
⏱️ Arbeitszeit: Wir erwarten eine Mithilfe von 4 Stunden pro Tag an 5 Tagen die Woche. Die restliche Zeit sowie zwei Tage pro Woche stehen euch komplett zur freien Verfügung.
📅 Mindestaufenthalt: Um sich gut einzuleben und die Projekte sinnvoll zu begleiten, solltet ihr mindestens 1 Woche bei uns bleiben. Längere Aufenthalte sind nach Absprache natürlich sehr willkommen!
Unterkunft & Verpflegung:
Ihr wohnt während eurer Zeit bei uns in einer eigenen, voll ausgestatteten Wohnung direkt auf dem Hofgelände. Ihr habt hier eure Privatsphäre und Platz zum Entspannen.
Die Verpflegung regeln wir ganz individuell und flexibel nach Absprache – ob gemeinsames Kochen oder Selbstversorgung in eurer Wohnung, wir finden die passende Lösung für alle.
Sprachen & Kultur:
Wir sprechen fließend Deutsch und Englisch sowie ein bisschen Spanisch. Wenn ihr euer Deutsch verbessern möchtet, unterstützen wir euch im Alltag super gerne dabei!

We love meeting new people and sharing stories from all over the world! You can expect a warm, welcoming, and open-minded community here. After a rewarding day of work, especially during the summer, we love to gather in the evenings for a cozy BBQ/barbecue.
Our farm is a canvas for your creativity, you can fully express yourself trough gardening, DIY, and craftsmanship - we highly welcome your own ideas and initiatives!
Since we interact a lot during the day, our farm is the perfect place to improve your German skills in real-live conversations. We are more than happy to practice with you and help you learn.

A few minutes from the old Farm is a beautiful moor, ideal for a nice walk, watching birds and more.
Our Village is near the city Schwerin
the most spectacular highlights cost absolutely nothing or are very cheap to reach by bike or public transport.
Schwerin s Lakeland Region hast all a water-loving person could wish for. 12 Lakes and coming with that, all the hobbies you can wish for.
If you rather want to see the baltic sea, its about an hour by car or train from our Village!
You are into culture? There are a lot of events, markets, museums and more in the region. We are happy to tell you about the nicest spots and breathtaking views you can get.
The people of our village are friendly and courious, there are get-togethers you can join with us. However most of the villagers dont speak english. In the city near by you are more likely to meet people of different countries and cultures.
Our farm is a safespace for the LGBTQI+ Community. You are Welcome, come as you are.

You have your own space to work in the Apartment you stay in. You have to bring your devices by yourself - Power and WiFi are available in the apartment.

Horse or Dog - your pet is welcome. However we need to talk about it beforehand, there are a few rules, so all animals on the farm can peacfully coexist. Ob Hund oder Pferd, dein tierischer Begleiter ist bei uns willkommen. Wichtig ist uns hierbei Kommunikation, es gibt einige Regeln, damit alle Tiere auf unserem Hof friedlich zusammenleben können.
