  Help me caring for a young cat family! I actively engage to protect nature and animals, for social and environmental justice, and sustainability.
  
  I need active, open-minded people, who want to work for a change and are interested in building and promoting new relationships to animals and nature, beyond the stray/pet and in-need/shelter scheme and the nature-culture divide.
  
  Experience in animal care is good, but not necessary. Your willingness to help and learn and your capacity to communicate with animals are the most important requisites.
  Essential qualities are: ENERGETIC, SUPPORTIVE, ATTENTIVE, PATIENT.
  
  Staying from 1 month. Longer stayings are preferred. One volunteer or a couple of volunteers (no smoker).

  The cat family you help me care for lives in Petralia Soprana, a small village within the Madonie Natural Park in Sicily, Italy. The Madonie is a mountain range on the northern area of Sicily. It is a beautiful place to be if you like to be in nature. Access to hiking trails is easy and within walking distance. The view you can enjoy includes all the mountains surrounding the village, the sea on the northern coast, and the Etna, on clear days!
  
  You learn caring for animals and the environment.

  Your core task is the care of the 13 cats family.
  Care basic tasks are feeding, keeping the litter boxes clean, brushing the cats’ blankets, and basic household chores.
  Other activities are splitting and sawing wood for the stove (wood-burning stove heating) and games for the cats.
  In winter there is almost no garden care, except watering some plants, if it has not rained enough.
  The volunteering usually includes periods with the host and periods on your own ("House sitting"). In the periods when the host is present, you will be given two days off.

  Acomodação

  The cat family lives in a house in the center of the village, on two levels, with a courtyard and a terrace. Your room is shared with the cats.
  
  Cooking is vegetarian*.
  
  Heating is with wood-burning stove.

  You can reach us easily by public transportation (bus) from Palermo Central Station. There are 3 daily connections (2 on weekends).
  
  In the village you find the basic. For more you can walk downhill to the next village. There you find supermarkets and many other shops.

  Workspace and Internet You have own workspace. You get a local SIM card which includes a flat rate for Italian numbers and 150 GB Internet. You can use the Hotspot function on your smartphone to connect via WiFi your PC to the Internet. If your smartphone has two slots, you will be able to use both your number and your new Italian number.
