  We are so happy to see volunteers who would like to support us :) Unfortunately, we can not accept volunteer applications less than two months, volunteers who can stay minimum are 3 months are more preferable as it takes time to get to know our concept and get well with women.
  
  Who are we?
  
  Our NGO is a women empowerment NGO that provides a holistic approach to empowering disadvantaged women.
  Our attention is mainly focused on disadvantaged refugees and Turkish women. For them, it is especially difficult to create a new, independent life with safety and dignity. Many refugee women have lost family members in war or in their travels. Many live alone as single mothers, caring for their children. These women have few income earning opportunities. Many disadvantaged Turkish women face similar conditions as well.
  
  Our mission is to strengthen disadvantaged women, to give them independence and economic empowerment, and to inspire the next generation of young women to be confident, strong, and able to support themselves and their children. Within this framework, we decided to establish an NGO in İzmir to enhance the quality of life for women. We provide vocational training giving them an opportunity to strengthen their employable skills. Furthermore, we conduct women empowerment workshops and seminars on various topics, such as communication, conflict resolution, women's right and so on. Our main vocational trainings are on textiles. While women are receiving textile training, we encourage them to produce various products such as T-shirts and bags with organic fabrics.
  
  When our project was established, the goal was for women to gain income by getting a job in the textile sector after receiving training. Over time, we have observed that most employees in the textile sector do not have fair working conditions in the institutions, that they are unfairly treated and that they do not receive their wages in return for their labor. Therefore, the goal of our association was not only to train women and support their employment, but also to contribute to better working conditions in the textile sector. In this context, we established Textile Atelier, a social enterprise under our association. First of all, we implement the working conditions we target within our own Atelier. We aim to increase the awareness of our friends working in the organization about the textile sector.
  
  The team consists of a program coordinator, a resource development specialist and a textile trainer. In Textile Atelier, 6 sewing operators, an atelier coordinator, an accountant are actively working. We also have a part-time intern studying at a special education high school. Everyone working in the association and the social enterprise is always in communication and interaction with each other. We support each other in every field as befits a team spirit.
  
  We are seeking energetic, motivated and adaptable people to join our team. Specifically, we are seeking individuals with expertise in three distinct areas- social/interpersonal, fashion/textile and media/marketing. It is important to have long term volunteers who will stay at least 2 to 3 months. Our primary need is for volunteers with experience and expertise in social media for our NGO and Textile Atelier.

  - Travelers can benefit immensely from a cultural exchange in several ways. Firstly, they gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of different cultures, traditions, and ways of life. This exposure broadens their perspective, fosters empathy, and enhances their global awareness.
  
  - İzmir is a lovely city with many sightseeing opportunities both in and around the city. You can easily visit nearby towns and cities during the weekends. Our NGO is located in the Buca district, home to one of the biggest universities in İzmir. This area is full of vibrant cafés frequented by young people, and offers enjoyable evening activities such as salsa nights, cinema, concerts, and more.
  
  - We have a unique system that you will experience. Our NGO provides vocational and social training to women, and as part of our organization, we also operate a textile atelier as a social enterprise. This will give you the chance to see how both an NGO and a social enterprise function.
  
  - We consider our volunteers to be part of our team. We learn, share, and experience together. We value your ideas and provide you with the space to explore and develop them, which will also support your personal growth.

  Ajuda

  NGO
  
  English Teaching: You will provide language instruction to our participants, supporting them improve their communication skills. You are expected to prepare lesson plans, conduct classes, speaking clubs, and assess students' progress.
  
  Social Media: You will be responsible for developing content, scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and analyzing the performance of our social media campaigns.
  
  Workshops: You will design and lead workshops focused on social skills (problem solving, finance managements), social cohesion activities (yoga, dance etc.), and practical skills like soap making and bracelet making. You will need to plan the workshop schedule, prepare materials, and facilitate sessions.
  
  Fundraising: You will assist in developing and implementing fundraising strategies. You will support to organize fundraising events, to reach out to potential donors, and to write project proposals.
  
  Textile Atelier
  
  General Operations: You will assist in the day-to-day management of our textile atelier. Responsibilities include coordinating production schedules, managing inventory, and ensuring smooth workflow. You should be organized, detail-oriented, and able to commit to regular hours during the week.
  
  Social Media: :You will create engaging content, schedule posts, interact with followers, and monitor social media metrics to enhance our social enterprise visibility.
  
  Sustainability: You will promote and implement sustainable practices within our atelier. Tasks include researching eco-friendly materials, developing recycling programs, and educating staff and participants about sustainability. A commitment to environmental stewardship is required.
  
  In addition to individual daily tasks, our volunteers are expected to help keep the toilet, garden, kitchen, and shared rooms clean. We have a weekly cleaning schedule, and each volunteer is assigned specific daily tasks accordingly.

  Acomodação

  Volunteers will stay on the top floor of our NGO building in a large shared room. Each volunteer will have their own bed but will share the space with others. Since this room is part of the NGO building, please note that activities will take place daily from 9 am to 4 pm, and team members may be present until 7 pm or 8 pm. Volunteers are expected to keep their belongings out of shared areas and maintain a clean environment. For security reasons, volunteers are not allowed to invite friends to the NGO building.
  
  Please note that we have a blind cat in our garden. During the week, we take care of the cat's needs, but on weekends we may ask volunteers to provide food and water. If you are not a cat lover or are allergic to cats, staying in the NGO building might not be suitable for you. However, please be aware that there are many cats around, as Turkey is a paradise for cats, and you will likely encounter them frequently :)

  If you would like to volunteer with us, we encourage you to send us a message. We will then send you our volunteer questionnaire to get to know you better. After you complete the questionnaire, we will invite you for a Zoom meeting to personally meet and discuss how you can contribute and how we can support your personal growth. Once we mutually decide to proceed, you can start planning your volunteer journey.
  
  Please note that volunteers are required to have health insurance. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide any letters for visa applications, so you will need to manage the visa process individually.
  
  Upon your arrival, you will have a 2-day orientation where we will provide you with more information about the NGO and the atelier, as well as introduce you to our team members.
