  Hi there :)
  
  I am an Irish guy called Cavan and it's a pleasure to welcome you to my page and hopefully to SISSI on the Greek island of Crete. I have travelled almost all of Europe west and east, also some middle eastern and Asian countries, had a lot of fun, met great interesting people and have enjoyed a varied interesting life.
  
  Today I am running a popular Irish bar which is very much a music bar, and being a musician, singer/songwriter, this chilled out lifestyle really suits me! The bar is in a picturesque and beautiful working fishing village called Sissi.
  
  Situated on the north coast of Crete, the village is a little piece of tranquility and is loved by many repeat visitors every summer.
  
  PLEASE NOTE: New update.
  We operate legally here and regretfully because of new updated regulations we can now only accept European Passport holders, who upon arrival here (with us) are required to be registered into the system as employees. This also now means that we need people to stay a minimum of 4 weeks, but that makes it all more friendly :0)
  
  THE ANNUAL SUMMER JAM SESSION
  
  This year's JAM SESSION will hopefully be from April, along with the live music in the bar. Right now and until the end of October.
  I also offer places and welcome people as staff in the bar, for which there will of course be an arranged agreed payment. I will again be welcoming many new and sometimes returning. "WORKAWAY MUSICIANS" from different cultures, jamming and relaxing together. Arriving, meeting, overlapping and leaving all through the season from April-October. Previous years have been really fantastic with many new friendships being formed, and its always a great time for all.
  
  Accommodation in the summer will be an apartment (possibly shared) not too far from the bar.
  
  OK so as a musician your "work" this will a bit of jamming in the afternoon and fun at the bar for a little time each day. You should assume it will be really warm/hot, so you will get some free cold drinks from the bar. Then hopefully also joining us on stage for a few numbers on the live music evenings.
  It will be arranged that you have time free to explore, or to enjoy the sun and the sea, which is only a few minutes walk.
  There will be a meal/ snacks provided, or an allowance if you prefer to buy and self cater.
  There are already many enquiries, with many more interested in these places, so if you would like to/want to come, and you know when, it is best to make a provisional reservation as soon as possible.

  The summer jam is bringing musicians together from many countries. All with a common passion and has very often been the start of many new friendships.

  SADLY BECAUSE OF EU REGULATIONS WE ARE NOW ONLY ABLE TO TAKE EU PASSPORT HOLDERS
  
  Basically a few hours helping, (playing/jamming) the rest of your time for relaxing, walking, talking, maybe exploring, whatever you feel. There are many archeological Minoan sites around the area, the main one of course being Knossos. The second most important archeological find on Crete is right here in Sissi, its not open to the public but I can arrange a private tour.
  
  
  WORKAWAY MUSICIANS- Workawayers who play music, meeting others, relaxing, jamming, chilling out, and as for your "work"? jamming having fun with and for everyone. Hopefully getting up to perform a few numbers at night which is really appreciated and enjoyed. There will also be the bonus of rewarding "Cold" drinks from the bar!! This is all that is expected from you, just to relax and play.
  
  In the bar and in our apartment, I have 6 guitars, a bass guitar, 5 amplifiers, microphones, keyboards, PA, mandolins, banjo, balalaika, concertina, bodhran, bones, fiddle, tin whistles, cajun drum, bongos.

  Crete is a big and beautiful island with so many places to explore, it is the largest of the Greek islands and the most southerly part of Europe and if walking is your thing, there are costal walks, hills (and mountains) or small country roads through the olive groves. You will often see the buzzards and eagles around the hills and olive groves. :0)
