We spent a month in Lasses and Dortes Cabin. The cabin Is really nice but Is still in a process of paintint etc. The cabin Is more then one hour from the place where they live, so you just have to be self-reliant, to stay there. Both the beach and the forest are great and we enjoyed our everyday walks there. By the bike you can go to see the
… read more church in Fjellerup, Stendysserne Ved Tustrup, Bønnerup Havn. We didn't have an opportunity to spend too much time with Lasse and Dorte but they were both really kind to us and we felt welcomed. We got anything we needed and the cabin became almost a home to us over the month.

Having Glory staying with us was an absolute pleasure. She is so kind, helpfull and right away became a part of the family. She is very easy to be around and has a great laugh that you will hear often.
She helped with everyday things in the house and just made our lives much easier. I bought her a guitar so we could enjoy her singing and playing.

The kids bonded with her instantly and learned a little bit of english along the way.
She will always be velcome in our home.

After staying two months with Lasse, Signe, Silas and Agnes they have definitely become my own family! They are very warm, kind-hearted, fun and adventurous human beings who took me in as one of their own. I felt like an honorary big sister :) The property is absolutely breathtaking - I stayed over the fall months (late September - late November),
… read more with a large yard to play soccer in and the forest nearby for many nature walks, it's really an ideal location. The bus stop is just a short walk up the road and will get you to city center within 30 minutes. The room was incredibly comfortable, spacious and inviting and allowed me to have space to myself if needed. The hours and work were very flexible - I helped with house chores mostly (cooking, cleaning, laundry, misc projects, etc) as all the gardening had been completed over the summer months. Lasse and Signe were also very understanding of my schedule as I was teaching English online for a few hours per day. I was able to help myself to any food in the house and join in on all family meals - both Signe and Lasse are incredible cooks! They also made sure to always have peanut butter stocked for me :) On weekends, I would often spend time with my brother in Aarhus or join in on any family activities - they were always so awesome about inviting me to any events they had going on! Lasse also taught me how to use multiple power saws to cut wood, how to shoot a bow and arrow and throw a hatchet. I walked away with a few cool new skills and a little bit of Danish as well!
This was my first Workaway experience and they definitely set the bar high! You will absolutely love staying with this family and will leave with life-long friends. They provide the perfect environment to dive right into Danish culture. Lorenzo is also a fantastic tennis player and coach, so if you want to learn to play tennis or improve your skills you will have a great teacher.
We wish them all the best in their future studies and hope everything works out with Sofias school.

As our first Workaway experience, we have been extremely lucky to spend almost three weeks with them. They are a beautiful family, very caring and welcoming, and with their help and advices our time in Aarhus has left really good memories.
From borrowing us bikes and bathing suits for our first actual swim in the ocean, to cooking delicious ribs
… read more on the barbecue, to leaving us the freedom to keep up with our personal interests, we really have only good things to say about Lasse, Signe, Silas, and Aunes, that by the way are two super sweet and educated kids.
The weather has been unbelievably good, the best summer in a hundred years as Lasse was saying. We ate most of the delicious meals with the rest of the family. Otherwise, we had the freedom to prepare our own meals.
The room and a half was very comfortable, and it allowed us to have privacy any time we wanted to.
The house is actually in the countryside, and the landscapes in that area are amazing, but in half an hour of biking you can be right downtown, and the bus stop is also at a couple of minutes from the house.
We can't thank you enough for this amazing experience, and we'll surely stop by and say hi whenever we'll be back in Aarhus.

Both are very tender, welcoming, motivate you to carry out activities or recommend you experiences that are truly excellent and open your home and heart <3 Children Agnes and Silas are the best! Two little ones that love to explore and play, very very adorable !. We left with a completely filled heart, we gained a friendship that we hope to continue and we learned skills of construction, gardening, cooking and Danish life.
