We stayed with Luigina and Simone for 3 weeks and we had a great time! They were both lovely and welcoming from the moment they picked us up from the train station, and were keen to learn about our home as well as being open to sharing as much of their culture as possible with us too. … read more rides around the area, going into Rovigo and seeing other nearby cities of Ferrara, Bologna and Venice.
The home was really comfortable, the food was great and Simone and Luigina are both very funny and a pleasure to spend time with.
The work was varied, interesting, fun, and never too much.

Julien and I stayed almost two weeks with Luigina and Simone and we feel extremely lucky to have met them. We sent a message only a week before and Luigina accepted to host us even though we didn't speak Italian. We had an amazing time with them and felt very welcomed. Simone showed us around Rovigo (best guide ever!), Luigina cooked delicious
… read more meals (even if she says she doesn't like cooking). We went to Rovigo, Ferrara, Padova, Bologna and Venezia which are all totally reachable from their place. We even attended a Gelato class with Luigina !! :)
Every morning we would work, prepare lunch for them and then be free for the afternoon. The room we stayed in is really spacious and comfortable just like the bathroom.
We are extremely grateful for the chance they gave us to live with them for a while and share their everyday life. All the meals we shared allowed us to learn a lot about the Italian language and to laugh together !

Il mio tempo con Luigina, Lucia e Simone era buonissimo. La villa e meravigliosa, Rovigo e una cittadina adorabile, e ci sono molte altre citta da guardare. Luigina, una vera mamma italiana, ci ha spiegato attentamente il lavoro e poi ci ha sempre presentato la sua maionese ai pasti. Lucia è sempre stata disposta ad aiutare con spiegazioni che ci hanno aiutato a imparare la lingua. Simone è un giovane molto divertente e ci ha fatto una bella risata. Tutti ci hanno dato il piacere di poter vivere insieme e conoscere la cultura / attualità della vita italiana. The work was a pleasure and fun. Feeding the animals, cleaning, a little gardening and other activities. I had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the day.

I am back at home since one week but still dreaming of my two weeks stay with Luigina, Lucia, Simone and Sabrina. I had a warm welcome and felt happy and at home from the very beginning. The property is really beautiful and I appreciated my big room/bathroom.
My days started with a nice italien espresso and a chat with Luigina in the morning and
… read more then I went feading the donkeys (unfortunately the donkey baby is still unborn), the chickens and the big swines. I did great meditation sessions by weeding in the field (really I loved it) and helped to produce honey. As it rained quite often, I helped with housework and loved to cook for lunch. I appreciated the joint dinners and remember the pizzas (hmm) and pastas, the wild green asparagus, the fish and fritto misto and …. and not to forget of course a glass of wine. And I am very happy to have solved an old enigma – Elicriso (thanks to Lucia and Massimo).
With Simone and Elia I did a bike tour to Rovigo where they explained me a lot about the history of this nice town. I had the chance to know Ferrara and finally the weather was fine to go to Venice.
I really had a wonderful time and would like to thank Luigina, Lucia, Simone and Sabrina with all my heart. I wish you all the best and hope to see you again! Marisa

I was lucky to be choosed by Luigina and Sabrina. When I just arrived I tought I was in heaven, because the farm and the historical house are amazing, I had a big bedroom and my owm bathroom. … read more comfortable, at home and at work, and Trudi, the cute and sweet dog always had a tail smile for me.
The work outside with the animals is very light and pleasured in the winter that I imagine how fantastic it must be in the summer.
I did many friends trough Luigina and I felt part of the comunity. In the comunity I learned how to make pasta, salami, sausage, bread. With Luigina I can't count how many things I learned...so many.
From there I took a one day trip to some beautiful cities, like Padova, Ferrara, Veneza e Bologna, by train.
Is very easy to reach Rovigo by bus, taking a ride with Luigina or Lucia, or by bycicle they lend you.
I highly recomend this place for those who love animals and working open air.
