We are a French couple of university professors specialized in English/Welsh/Irish civilization and computing. We have hosted volunteers from all over the world for the past eight years in our beautiful gardens in Lower Normandy. Just read the feedback below to have an idea of the life here with us. Most volunteers have become friends.
We can teach very healthy and anti-cancer cuisine and also gardening and permaculture techniques. We also grow and plant herbs to make herbal teas.
We need help for making new flower beds, plant vegetables for the season, watering a bit , weeding a lot. Painting garden furniture et gates is needed this year. A bit a creations in the gardens as well. We need help to repair old garden walls with lime. People with DIY knowledge are welcome as we are doing up an old house into a brand new flat for visitors as well. Choose your tasks.
Around you can go walking, canoeing, climbing, and horse riding. We are a bit isolated .We leave in a very small hamlet with nothing but kind people around. Next village 4kms. Cities around 12kms , or more. We can drop you places if needed sometimes. Extremely quiet place, wonderful gardens for meditation, art ,yoga, taichi . If you are a city lover with bars and disco, stay away you won't like it.

As university professors ,we have spent our lives with young people, so we are used to exchange on many topics, dealing with research , science and civilization. Dominique is also a specialist at teaching languages and has extremely efficient simple techniques to teach languages. She knows a lot about gardening, permaculture and is a wonderful cook . French cuisine has no secret for her. Now she is studying all sorts of new approaches to food and their benefits for a healthy diet. Studies about medicinal herbs. We know our wine well and provide good quality organic food. Beware we refuse to provide industrial food , coke and the like! !!!
We love playing games cards, dice and so on. We also can have music evenings or pool competitions.
Life is too short to be dull.
We also love photography, painting, sculpture.
Ajuda
There is a lot to do in the gardens if you are interested, painting maintenance anything... We want people who are well organized and know about gardening although we are very good at it ourselves. People who are hard working and like what they do, autonomous once they have been explained what has to be done in general terms.
You can continue continue our vegetable gardens with permaculture. Watering in the evening mulching, etc. We expect some participation with cleaning cooking shopping and washing up

Own small bedroom, and shared bathroom with other volunteers. Pool table in the main lounge. Table tennis in the garden. TV in the tv room upstairs. Loads of books. Internet connection. Guitars, cajun and a piano. Beautiful gardens to relax and meditate.
