I enjoyed working in the garden, creating foundament for the Veranda, doing Marmelade, strolling aroung and also, chillin' and talkin' while eating
Also, I really appreciate the trip till Usedom to see the baltic see, thank you, it's gonna be a core memory for me :)
In addition, food was great and the accomodation too, I slept like a child
So, if you want a place where to enjoy time together, put urself in new activities and meeting new amazing ppl while unplug from the busy city life, Moritz's house is gonna be the perfect place for you

Having Samuel in Rebelow was like meeting a soulmate or a long forgotten brother. Three weeks filled not only with good and creative work, but also with heart and soul. … read more to day how he progressed with his heart and with his skills at the same time and you could say that he conquered „la souffrance“ at last to a good point. I was proud of him how much he showed ambitions to overcome pain by working hard. I wish I could have helped him more in this period of his life, but all I could do is playing my best vinyls for him or cooking like a mother would do for her son. Samuel came as a workawayer, but left as a friend in my heart and I hope I will see him again in the future with his then wife and children so that he could show them where he worked and who was the old grumpy guy that he worked for...see you soon, Samuel, good luck for your career and for your love!
And come back to Rebelow whenever you want to! I mean it.

We had a really awesome experience with Moritz and Mark this summer. We spent almost one entire month in Rebelow and we had such a good time. First of all, the location is incredible. Moritz’s house is situated on the best spot of the village, just in front of some beautiful weeping willows. The surroundings are amazing too:
… read more there’s a stunning lake near the village, a breathtaking castle and an astonishing forest pretty near too. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and comfortable. The meals are taken together, with a calm atmosphere and really tasty vegetarian food. Moritz is such a good chef!!
Regarding the work, as Momo said, we had two main building projects: the wooden facade of the garden house and the brick wall in Mark’s house. Both were end to end projects, which allowed us to truly understand all the work that is behind it. The skills and knowledge we acquired here is something that we value a lot from the work away experience. In fact, Tomas has already applied what he learned in Rebelow, building a wooden henhouse as a gift for his girlfriend. Moreover, Moritz always made sure that we were feeling safe and comfortable during the work sessions.
I must admit that before coming to Rebelow, we were a bit concerned about it being in the middle of nowhere. But, in reality, this is what makes this village such an enjoyable place, as you can truly experience calm and silence. “Gelassenheit”, the first word that Moritz taught me, which means calmness and serenity, sums up all this work away experience.

I spent a month in Rebelow living with Moritz and Mark in my first experience with WorkAway and I feel so lucky for it.
Möritz and Mark are such an easy people, very simple, friendly and humble, but also interesting and cultured. The perfect mixt to make two guys with whom you will have an easy coexistence, with nice talks and laughs.
I would like to say so many things and I’ve been breaking my head to think about how can I put it all in a review. I’m sorry, I wasn’t able to do it and I got stuck. So, I finally decided to let it go and make it brief to leave a written record of just a couple of things about the work in the house and the free time/ cultural exchange.
About the working time I would like to highlight how much you learn with Möritz, he behaved like a father to me, with great patience and confidence. He always explained himself very well, letting me to try and fail many times and also knowing how to criticize in case of error to get the best out of me every day. He’s such a good teacher, this is how already from the first day you take ownership of the project he’s doing and you feel it as yours as it is from him. That was perfect to me because I entered in a dynamic where I got up every morning wanting to start and give it all. I would have liked to see the house finished :’)
Regarding to the cultural exchange, I have to say that, although I did not practice any German (we always prioritized the well understanding of each other’s with English), I learned a lot more than I expected about the history of the German people and the mentalities of the East.
I also really enjoyed the woods with Mark, talking about mushrooms, plants and animals. I saw myself in him both in his sense of humor and in his passion for the living systems. I will always remember the hours we spent walking while I was learning from him. Lately I can't help but think of the Rebelow woods when I'm in my mycology classes or when I've gone to look for mushrooms in the forest (which is already starting to be the season).
For that and many other stuffs, I believe that the best thing you can take from Rebelow is living with these two great people. That the house, location, project and food is spectacular falls short of what you can learn from Möritz and Mark. It may sound cheesy but you only have to see them interact with the other people (with the neighbors, in the bus, in the supermarket…) to realize that they are simply good human beings, and if you go with an open mind, energy to work and the desire to learn, you will end up loving them as much as we do :)
PD: Finally, I also want to send my regards to Mischka, Norman and Nico and say that I keep my promise to the hosts that I will come to visit you in the future, take good care of yourself.

This summer in Rebelow was in fact a spanish summer. Tomás and Joan joined us to help converting our garden house into a guest house, because these two old friends had the plan to renovate an old farm to live in. Perfect match! … read more gable, then his best friend Joan joined us and at the same day another spanish workawayer (Momo) arrived and then all of a sudden they were 3. The spanish summer in Rebelow began.
I have never experienced such manpower on our farm before and the result is a wonderful gift they gave me: two wooden gables and one of them with handcrafted artwork of little animals. A dream come true after all these years! I am so very thankful for their help and their ideas.
We had a lot of fun during our days, kept the balance between working and leisure time and we all found out that not all is „todo mal“ when you have the right „angulo“ and a good Wasserwaage in your hands!
Tomás as a biology student was helping me identifying several plants and animals and started a little terrarium for Marc.
Joan as a philosophy student had his own „Gelassenheit“ and always had some interesting points of view in our conversations. I must admit, I would have liked to go more into detail with him, but there was no real time frame for this.
Tomás had to leave a bit earlier than his friend Joan, the rumour is spread that there must be a pretty girl behind it, but only Tomás would know.
Even some songs we were singing for him would not reveal why he left...
All in all I must thank you all for this wonderful summer, for all the joy, the good talks, the singing and the working together. You are always welcome to join us one day to see the result of the project that we all started this year. Thanks a lot!

Momo is a warmhearted, sunny and motivated guy, always has a: „let’s go, let’s do it“ in his attitude and never stops until he is satisfied with his project. He became good friends with our snails, left an artwork of several animals at the facade and filled the air with his songs and the guitar.
Momo unknowingly gave me a birthday song on the guitar which was very touching for me. He played almost every day and so I got kind of addicted to it and miss it deeply now.
Momo, you are always welcome!

I spent 4 weeks with Moritz in Rebelow and I had a great time that I will never forget. We were 3 workawayers from Spain so there was a very familiar atmosphere with constant jokes and singing, like a summer holiday with friends almost. … read more in Mark's house. We worked a lot because we wanted to finish in time, but there was no pressure, you could always stop if you didn't feel like it. We also did other things like cleaning House n°7, get rid of the weeds, mow the grass, gather fruit, make a stone barrier for the lizards... In our free time we could relax in our comfy rooms or go on bike trips to the lake, go with Mark to the forest, visit Anklam, or try to go to Greifswald with Joan... I will especially miss the breakfasts and the countless conversations in the verandas while having something to eat. Moritz and Marc are good dudes, I learned a lot about sustainability and German culture with them (especially the GDR) and I even learned some Maltese with Marc. I'm really happy that this was my first workaway experience and someday I will definitely visit again!
