  Hello and welcome to our family!
  We are Carolina and David, proud parents of three amazing kids: a ten-year-old, an eight-year-old, and a lively three-year-old.
  
  Are you ready for an unforgettable experience in Spain? We’re looking for someone enthusiastic and kind to join our family from January to June 2024. Your main role will be to spend time with our children, care for them, and share your language and culture with us. Additionally, we appreciate help with everyday household tasks that come naturally with living together as part of a family with children.
  
  Here’s what you can look forward to:

  🏡 A large garden where you can relax, play with the kids, or enjoy peaceful moments surrounded by nature.

  Someone who is mentally healthy, positive, and enjoys spending time with children.
  Experience driving a manual car is essential for occasional small errands or short trips.
  A responsible and caring person who can support us with childcare and contribute to the smooth running of our household.

  - We believe that the experience of living with us could be very interesting for our way of life: a relaxed life, oriented to children and personal development. We can meditate together (Carolina is an expert in mindfulness), go for a walk in the countryside ...
  
  - If you like to live in the countryside, our house has direct access to a protected natural park, with oaks and juniper, where wild boars, goats, eagles and vultures and another wild animals live. Besides our beautiful garden is a beautiful place to rest, meditate, play, work with the soil, gardening ...
  
  - If you like to know the Spanish culture, from our house you can access Madrid in half an hour, with a bus stop a five minute walk from home that takes you to Madrid every 20-30 minutes. Madrid is the capital of Spain, and has many activities and life to offer you: Spanish and international food, tapas, places of great atmosphere like the Latin, the best museums, parks, theaters and cinemas, terraces ... What I'm going to say about Madrid (I can only say that other people who have accompanied us will return soon to be able to continue to know).
  - In addition Madrid is a neuralgic center to know all Spain in trips of some days: the natural beauty of the north, Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria ... Direct trains to Barcelona and Catalonia; Or deepen the beauty of the south, Andalusia ...
  - And if you want to go deeper from Madrid in an hour you can go to cities as beautiful as Toledo, Segovia, Avila, El Escorial.. Or in two hours in Salamanca, our beautiful city of origin.
  - Also from our house you can walk or bike (It's a 30-minute walk) to a small town with all the charm of small villages, a town where people greet you on the street, where they do many cultural activities, with a theater, good food ...
  
  Added to all this, we continue to develop our interests in breeding, permaculture, gardening, so if you can contribute knowledge you are welcome.
  We know a lot about bullfighting; we can explain you what is the magic in this art.
  And of course, if you want to know our language, we will be happy to share with you our Spanish from Salamanca, which is defined as the best Spanish in the world.

  What we’re looking for
  We are searching for a caring, proactive, and enthusiastic person to join our family and enrich our children’s lives with culture, language, and meaningful connection. If you truly love and respect children and enjoy playing, teaching, and spending quality time with them, we’d love to hear from you!
  
  Our goal is to expose our children to the richness of different languages and cultures while fostering their emotional, psychological, and physical development. We try to embrace a child-centered approach that respects their individuality, rhythms, and interests. Your role will be essential in supporting this philosophy by:
  
  Speaking and engaging with our children in English, Japanese, French, Chinese, or German, helping them learn naturally through everyday interactions and play.
  Planning creative and fun activities, from baking bread to making soap bubbles, that inspire curiosity and joy.
  Understanding and respecting the stages of childhood development, offering suggestions and activities based on the children's needs, not imposing rigid expectations.
  Here’s what your role will include:
  
  Picking up the children from school in the afternoons and accompanying them to extracurricular activities (a driving license and experience with manual cars are essential).
  Helping with dinners and supporting evening routines.
  Assisting on some weekends with activities for the children (we are flexible and can arrange for you to have full weekends or days off to travel or rest as needed).
  Sharing household responsibilities like tidying up the kitchen, cleaning common areas, keeping the house organized, and taking turns with cooking.
  We believe in life as a shared journey and value building meaningful relationships. As part of our family, you’ll have mornings free to explore or rest, and we’re committed to ensuring your experience with us is enriching and enjoyable.

  A person with experience driving manual cars (this is important for school pickups and errands).
  Someone who values connection, learning, and the joy of being present with children.

  Our oldest sons attends a international school where they learn English, French, Chinese. For this reason, we would love to have a workawayer who has a high level in one or both languages. For us parents, it is also very interesting to continue improving our English. The experience with workawayers in our house has allowed us to improve our level. In addition, we are from Salamanca, which in Spain is known for being possibly the best Spanish (Castilian) in the world. If you are interested in learning Spanish, we can accompany you. We ask our workawayers to interact with children in your native language and we look for spaces in which we, adults, can share our Spanish with interested people.

  What kind of accommodation we offer you.
  We live in a spacious and comfortable house with several rooms. One of those rooms, overlooking the mountain, is for you. You have a bed with a comfortable mattress and a goose feather comforter to keep warm on cold winter nights.
  
  We provide accommodation and food in general; if you have special needs or tastes in food, we prefer that you provide for yourself.. We try to make healthy meals. We will love to try food from your country.

  If you’re interested in sharing a part of your life with us in a healthy, respectful, and conscious way, we are truly excited to meet you. We have hosted several people before, and most of these experiences have been incredibly pleasant and enriching. Many of them remain close to our hearts—we still keep in touch, dream of welcoming them back in the future, or visiting them in their home countries someday. Some of our former volunteers even come back to visit whenever they can, and it’s always a joy to reunite with them!
  
  Each workawayer has brought something unique to our family, and we’ve learned and grown from every experience. Based on these wonderful interactions, we’d like to share a few key points to make our expectations as clear as possible:
  
  What we hope from you:
  1. Bring positivity and a willingness to connect.
  We all have our tough days, but we believe that a relationship based on smiles, positivity, open communication, and mutual learning can make this experience truly special.
  2. Love spending time with children.
  Our kids thrive when surrounded by caring and attentive people who truly enjoy playing with them. Your role would be to:
  3. Speak to them in English, Japanese, German, French, or Chinese. They are especially eager to improve their English and are most receptive when spoken to consistently in your native language. (If needed, you can clarify some things in Spanish.)
  Join their favorite activities, such as playing with Lego, building in Minecraft, riding bikes, jumping on the trampoline, reading Manga, or even learning piano or cooking Japanese food. Proposing creative activities is always appreciated!
  4. Help with light household tasks.
  We’ve found that the best way to ensure smooth and enjoyable co-living is by sharing some basic daily responsibilities. Our previous workawayers have felt comfortable and happy helping with these tasks, which include:
  - Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy after meals.
  - Preparing some meals from time to time.
  - Ensuring that the children’s play areas are tidy after activities.
  These small contributions make a big difference and help create a harmonious and enjoyable environment for everyone in the house.

  If you are a digital nomad, maybe you can find it interesting to spend this year with us. We have shared our life with people who have been studying at a distance, or working on their own projects, in their free time, making the well-being of children compatible with their project.

  In our house we have chickens. Cats often pass through our garden, and unfortunately a fox. There are many birds. We would love to have a dog but we think it will be appropriate to have one when the children are a little older. If you have a pet that you would like to travel with, please let us know to see if it is possible that it can also stay with us.
