Une rencontre extraordinaire avec Leonie ! Les quatre semaines passées ensemble furent vraiment très agréables. Leonie est une belle personne, mature, responsable et très intéressante, nous avons eu beaucoup d'échanges très enrichissants. Nous avons aussi beaucoup ri ensemble, chaque jour !
Leonie est volontaire autant dans le travail extérieur

Nous avons eu plaisir à l'accueillir chez nous et lui souhaitons encore beaucoup de belles rencontres et d'aventures.

Thanks for the great experience in august 2022! It was my third workaway experience after a break of four years and I can recommend it to everyone. Nicolas and Marie-Cécile are very open minded and friendly people. Nothing was complicated and I enjoyed the three weeks in Brittany a lot :) The work was very flexible, most of it physical work
… read more outside in the garden or the yard. In the evening we talked or played board games or had very delicous dinners, sometimes with friends of them. It was never boring, I could shedule my exercises like I wished and I had some days off to vistit the region (thanks for the good recommendations!). We ate a lot of crêpes bretons and cheese (very french!), home grown fruits and vegetables, which is one of the best things one can do :) The weather was exeptionally sunny for many days and I went often to the nearby lake to take a bath, which was wonderful. The region is beautiful to do hiking and cycling and water sports. I learned a lot of french words for fruits and vegetables and for tools for outside. We tried never to speak english and it worked very well. I can really recommend Marie-Cécile and Nicolas as hosts as they are friendly and respectful, have a positive energy and a ecologic way of living. Nous avons partagé une superbe expérience en recevant Gonzalo et Rocky chez nous. Ce fut notre plus long séjour avec un Workawayer (2 mois et demi) et ce fut un plaisir. Gonzalo nous a beaucoup aidé sur nos travaux extérieurs : jardinage, bois, rénovation, etc. Il nous a fait découvrir le vrai bon maté argentin, les empanadas et le Catan, et nous
… read more lui avons fait découvrir notre bel environnement, le vrai cidre breton, les crêpes, les fromages, le Mille Sabords...Ce fut un vrai échange culturel où l'on a passé des heures à discuter, à rigoler, à jouer, à manger (et à travailler) !! :)
Nous sommes très heureux d'avoir rencontré également son adorable labrador Rocky qui est doux et gentil.
Nous avons mené une chouette petite vie ensemble tous les 4 (et avec nos poulettes).
Merci Gonzalo pour tous ces partages, ton aide et ta bonne humeur.

Marie-Cécile et Nicolas sont formidables. Chaleureux, doux, passionnés et passionnants, ouverts, de vrais chefs végétariens, nous sommes tombés chez des pépites de workaway!

It was a pleasure to meet and host Jenny in our house. She is very kind, shy at first but really funny once she felt at ease. She shared a lot with us, and she was very voluntary to help us with the tasks we needed.

… read more of things. She has an amazing memory to learn new French words so fast ! We had a great feeling with her and we had a very nice first experience of hosting workawayers thanks to her. She is someone we can trust in.

Although this was my first ever Workaway and I had absolutely no clue what to expect, Nicolas and Marie-Cécile reassured me even before I had arrived at their house by reiterating in their messages the importance to them of me feeling at ease. I felt this warm, welcoming, and relaxed vibe throughout my whole stay from the moment I stepped into
… read more their house. No two days were the same and, whether I was chopping wood, helping make soap, or working with bees, no one task was ever too much for me. But by eating meals, taking trips, and making jokes all together, I felt more like I was part of their family than just someone working for them! At the same time, Nicolas and Marie-Cécile were very understanding and accommodating of me exploring on my own the lake nearby and the surrounding cities, whose views and birdsong were almost as stunning as their own on the orchard! I learned so much in the short time I was there, such as how to care for bees, how to live a more sustainable and eco-friendly life, and almost too many new words and expressions to remember! On top of all the new French cheeses I discovered, I learned so much about French cooking - both tasty traditional recipes (such as pommes de terre au lait ribot) and colourful new vegetarian ones with ingredients from their orchard. And I experienced all of this in only ten days! I could and would have very happily stayed there for the rest of my gap year, but the COVID-19 border situation cut short my trip. I’m really hoping to come back in the summer when the trees are bearing fruit and the honey is apparently EVEN tastier (if that’s possible)!
